Why would you list a USED item more expensive than retail?

You all do realize I can just buy a NEW item at BestBuy cheaper right? Do you not wanna sell your item? Or is there some laundering scheme going on?

For example Ratatouille 4k. $20 at bestbuy brand new. You guys are selling it for more USED. Uh hello??? BRAIN?????

People will pay up for convenience. I highly doubt it is money laundering. Sometimes I see a used pair of american eagle jeans selling for $7000, now that I wonder about money laundering. But not a $20 dvd. People can price their items however they want, just don't buy it.

I completely agree with you. I came here to buy a used book for cheaper but the price is 20$ more than amazon that's selling it brand new. I used to buy books here all the time  but in the last year I haven't purchased anything because it's so overpriced here. It makes no sense. this is why no one suggest ebay as a place to buy things anymore. People use amazon or facebook market place. Sellers are shooting themselves in the foot.

You do understand the sellers more than likely are not seeing this and eBay is not the seller. Brain should tell you to move on to a different seller!

By the way, who are the "you guys" that you are addressing the comment too anyway?

Convenience.

I haven't stepped foot in a department store in years. I buy packs of Hanes socks on eBay for $18.99 all the time that I know I can find for cheaper if I want to go shopping.

I bought 2 used dinner plates on eBay once for $22. Nothing fancy, not collectible. Just random dinner plates with flowers and fruit on them that you can get in any yard sale for 25 cents. Sometimes people are too busy to look for deals.

My laziness is your oppurtinity.

When I search Best Buy online, it is $22.99 + $3.99 shipping for a total of $26.98, not $20.

That aside ...

The limited edition SteelBook version is sold out at Best Buy online, so if the listings you saw were for that version then the price is understandable.

If you can buy the item cheaper elsewhere, why are you concerned about what an eBay seller is asking for it?  Buy it and maybe a couple extra and sell them here for a profit.

Because the seller is OOS so they price it ridiculously high so no one will attempt to buy, then they won't lose their spot in the search.

I don't run auctions anymore, but when I used to run auctions on ebay,

I would often put  something like "this item is currently selling for $49.95 on amazon"

in my description hoping that i would get somewhere near that.

Bidders would often bid ABOVE that.

that is right take advantage of people who cant get to best buy or dont want to give out their information to pay on other sites. and lets not forget the buyers that want to use stolen or fake credit cards or the thousands and thousands of scammers ebay supplies to us who do not care what they pay because they are going to file a claim and get money back as well as keep the item.

Have you considered switching to decaf?

Do what rational people do: If it's too expensive for you, don't buy it.

You completely agree with someone who doesn’t know how eBay works, and whose thread was dead for 8 months?

Random thoughts,     Just tagging on.

Isn't this why the back button was invented?     Situations exactly like this?

Regarding the used vs New argument.       An 1885CC Morgan Silver dollar.

In my limited experience a "Used" 85cc dollar is much harder to locate than a Mint state example.

Just sayin.       Your mileage may vary.
