Why when you are on a roll, does "list similar" take you so far back?

I'm listing Christmas ornaments. I finish one and go to the next with "list similar". It is very strange for the new listing to fill information from five items ago. I am POSITIVE it used to bring up the most recently listed item. Totally freaks me out!

In particular when I'm listing two unicorns by the same manufacturer it sure would be nice to have most of the next listing mostly filled in, instead of the cat I listed a few minutes ago.

It does for me - brings up the same info as the last listing.

What I REALLY wish it would stop doing on a sell similar is change the title (and sometimes the description) back to the original when it uploads.

Yep. I was listing some stuff that was "similar" and got the same thing as the OP had. VERY irritating.

Same here. It was very annoying and since my conditions change from disc to disc, it's frustrating. I sell similar on items that are all stored in the same bin, so now when I switch to a different bin, I have to do one listing, say I'm done, go into the listing I just did and start anew.

Taking way longer than it should now.

But isn't that the "eBay way"? Take anything that's simple and works and botch it up so it's either unusable or at the least takes a few more clicks. They've proven over & over with their new "enhancements & improvements" that a seller's time is worth nothing (to eBay at least)

(I tell ya, they have shares in a mouse making entity)

Sounds like a "new Feature" has been introduced. I hit it last week.

Every time the screen updates, it changes things to the way ebay wants them.  If you uncheck the fill in details, when it updates, not only does it change the details you put in, but it will put a stock photo in instead of the picture you take.  You can't count on anything staying the same when you do "List Similar", you have to check and recheck.  When the view listing was working you could see if anything had changed, now all the view listing does is say the listing is closed or rolled off.  Really dumb and aggravating.  The programmers just can't leave things alone, they have to make it hard to get anything done on this site.,

You mean the preview listing before you submit?

Click to see the newly listed item and then sell similar.

List more, sell more. Goodwill that other, uh, stuff.

Feeling sleepy? There's an app for that.

Yes, you can view the listing before you submit and check to see that everything is correct. On a new listing you click view listing and this is what you get........
This listing (XXXXXXXXXXXXX) has been removed, or this item is not available.
Please check that you've entered the correct item number
Listings that have ended 90 or more days ago will not be available for viewing.
Back to previous page

So you have to submit the listing and then get into it to make sure that nothing has changed before you could submit.

And I just belatedly noticed that all my items from yesterday and today have gone in as No Returns. I am TRS and the only item I've listed as No Returns in years is a unicorn statue where buyer has to have the skill and patience to reattach the horn. I wonder if that item, listed a few days ago,  triggered the No Returns to start showing up. It has always just come up automatically for me.

And while I'm grumbling, it won't let me change categories. "Browse Categories" only let's me stay within the last category I used. If I want to change from a Christmas ornament to a book, I can't get at the Books category without blowing out of the listing completely and starting fresh.

You ever get the feeling that rather than their stated intent to make listing as fast & easy as possible they're actually going in the opposite direction?
