Why the differences for views and watchers between mobile and desktop sites?

So, I've been looking at my for sale listings through the ebay app, as well as checking on them through my laptop browser. The number of views and the number of watchers are different on these formats. Which is correct?

I'm not surprised in the least and wouldn't be shocked to find out these are pulling from different sources, or are both incorrect.  There are irreconcilable issues with the impression counts for promoted listings.  eBay's IT appears to be severely siloed with no communication between the teams and no review of code or output.

Not sure why this would be important, as the likelihood of either of these translating into bidders or buyers is rather marginal at best.
