I already got hit once on my tracking report because there was no tracking info for a local pickup. The person had already paid with shipping and then asked me if he could do a pickup instead. I couldn't send a new invoice since he already paid and I refunded the shipping. I shouldn't get a ding for this and the buyer shouldn't have to go through me cancelling the transaction, doing an entire refund, and relisting as a buy it now.
I just now had a sale for someone that was on duty with the National Guard and accidentally paid with his checking account and not a credit card. I'm going to have to cancel, refund, and relist. They should be able to contact Paypal to fix it, but then again, you can't cancel a debit at Best Buy and then do it as a credit without a refund first and buy it again.

That is how the system is set up.
If you are making an accommodation for the buyer such as changing shipping method or changing payment method, then the buyer should understand that you need to follow procedures the system dictates to allow that to happen while keeping your account in good standing.
In my experience, if I'm making changes at a buyer's request they are understanding that they may need to contribute to the process to make it happen (such as re-purchasing an item).
