I have a bunch of active buy it now listings for rare items. Many of them have no other listings on eBay. I have to purposefully disable the "Accept Best Offers" checkbox every time I start a new listing, and do so religiously. I have set the prices I'm willing to sell at, and I don't want people thinking that they can offer me less and I will be happy with it.
Why does eBay keep sending me messages titled "Your listings can now accept offers to attract more buyers" as if they've done me some kind of favor??? I wake up in the morning and have offers sitting on items that I had already very purposely disabled offers on. And then they have the nerve to think they're somehow helping me by causing me to have to waste time turning it off on all my items and giving negative responses to users who legitimately thought I was open to offers, creating ill will with potential buyers.
What can I do to stop having eBay automatically change settings on auctions that I have already told them I don't want offers on??
Thanks

About the time that all non auction listings were transitioned to BIN, the make an offer was also added on automatically. This was changed in the TOS for eBay so you really have no choice as long as you choose to sell using this platform.
However there is an easy fix. Just select automatically decline for the lowest amount you want to sell your item at. I do this for each of my listings and I never have to be bothered by offers below my lowest amount. The system declines them immediately. There are many utilities eBay offers that will help you. Best of luck to you....

Do you use the quick listing tool or the advanced listing tool?
If you use the quick listing tool or the app, they seem to like adding best offers to listings.

If you are creating your listings using the QLT [quick list tool] or on a mobile device, you don't see all the fields available to you and Ebay has some set as a default, like Best offers.
To avoid this, don't list using a mobile device and when you do create your listings, change from the QLT to ALF [advanced listing tool].
When you go into to create a listing, look on the top right side of the form. Somewhere in that area will be something like Switch to Advanced listing form or similar.

"Why is eBay enabling Best Offer on BIN Listings?"
BIN listings are where the best offer option is used. It'd be redundant to offer the best offer option in an auction listing.
"I have set the prices I'm willing to sell at, and I don't want people thinking that they can offer me less"
Don't worry you will likely still get buyers emailing you offers.

Why? Because ebay doesn't care how much something sells for - just as long as it sells.
To ebay, 10,000 - $1.00 items selling is better that 1 - $10,000 item selling. It means that ebay has volume/velocity, it means that is popular, 'The Place To Go', 'The place to sell everything', 'The place to BE'.

They add Best Offer to auctions too and have for quite a while. It usually acts like a BIN in reverse. What will you offer me to end the auction right now? It used to be a violation then eBay Realized they could monetize it.
