Why is a foreign monetary unit showing on listings sometimes?

Hi!

Not the first time I've noticed this, but today I decided to get a screenshot.

I plugged a picture into Google Lens and clicked on a similar photo to get an idea as to what to ask for something I'm thinking about listing.

I'm in the US, not using a VPN, and the seller who sold the item is also in the US.

So what gives? I don't even know what PHP is.

Our contract Customer Service is in the Philippines. PHP is their peso. Still don't know why it shows up on some listings. Shouldn't really show up on any, but why some and not all?

Yes, that item was listed on eBay USA, in US$.

But when you did the google image search, it found a cached copy of the listing that had been viewed on eBay Philippines, ebay.ph, as shown in the screenshot below. So when you clicked to view the listing, you were taken to eBay Philippines, and it showed an approximate conversion of the US$ price to Philippine pesos.

It has nothing to do with eBay customer service.
