and don't you have to have e-mail from them to be abble to accept if so i didn't get e-mail saying 500 listing for whatever much
It was a thought that might have explained it. And yes, you have to opt into the promo if you get an invitation.
I'm glad it has disappeared from your account now. Your question was an interesting one. I wish you the well.

Ebay is always trying to give sellers their 0.02 when it some to selling. Looks like you got a discount.... WOW consider yourself lucky!
There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility. Inside of the dullest exterior there is a drama, a comedy and a tragedy.

As I originally posted it was a PING to whatever your payment source was that you loaded to your selling account.
It's reversed because it's only a test- most people never notice it.

A ping goes on your payment method, not on the account that needs to be paid.
For example, Amazon does this all the time. They recheck your payment method every now and then. They use the $1 amount. But I do not see on my Amazon account that I owe a dollar, I only see the ping on my payment method a credit card in this case.

Usually but this is eBay ya know...
Perhaps they had to add the .01 seller charge to ping test, ensuring there is a payment method attached- it's possible they couldn't bill directly, it's all a computer program so who knows... I just see no other explanation for the .01 charge...
But again; it is eBay it's often tough to discern their actions & logic.

I am still with Pika on this one, I think it was a ping test.
My bank did it to me years ago, and I think it was one cent.
They said it was to check the routing.
But dang that is old school...

You are correct. A ping is to verify that a payment and/or deposit will go through properly. I've said this.
The thing a ping does NOT do is increase a bill in any way. Meaning if Ebay needed to ping your credit card on file for payment of Ebay fees, it does NOT put an amount on your invoice for the ping. They just send a ping to the CC.
My earlier post stated how Amazon does their pings. They periodically will verify the payment method you have on file on the site. Amazon uses $1 as their normal ping. But that $1 NEVER shows up on your Amazon account as an amount you owe, it only shows on your CC. Then once they have pinged successfully, they have that $1 ping removed from your CC. But it NEVER shows on your account with Amazon.
To ping an account sucy as the problem this OP had, serves no purpose. But fortunately Ebay has now reversed that charge for the OP. It is most probable that Ebay just made an error.

Well then I misunderstood. I thought you said it was on your Ebay account, not your credit card or PP payment. Sorry!

i am a new seller but not stupid
but i don't see the 0.01 on the fee list at all
all i see is total pay 0.01
believe me i looked everywhere to find out why
its just not saying why.
i tried calling cs yesterday and i didn't not know morons work at the cs so they could not freaking tell me and am just more mad lol.
I think it's eBay's accounting system which is causing this 0.01 to briefly appear in your account... it's a known quirk. If you individually add up all your detailed fees for a particular month, it will sometimes not match the total eBay displays for that month.
The reason for this is that for the monthly calculation, eBay first adds up all the final prices and shipping costs and then does the 10% calculation. Rounding rules will sometimes produce different results when this is done.
You can check this yourself by adding up the item prices and shipping costs and then doing the 10% calculation. Compare that to the total you get by adding up each item's final value fees as shown in your invoice details. Do you get a one cent difference?

Since you mentioned it, i did that before and yes i didn't know then but, i thought maybe my brain wasn't working at the time and i was calculating wrong.
Thank you 🙂
