Why have blanket "business policies" now been added to my listings?

All of  a sudden I find I can't revise or control some of my listings' details - such as return policies, shipping, payments, handling time, etc.   Instead when I try to revise, all these are listed under something called "business policies" which I can't edit - this is unacceptable and how can I go back to being able to set all the details for each listing as I always have been able to do before????

Hi, @sonofagun231.
You should be able to get rid of or change the business policies at https://www.bizpolicy.ebay.com/businesspolicy/manage. Also, here is a help page on the topic: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/business-policy/business-policies?id=4212.
Good luck!

Right - I "should be able to" - well I looked at those pages and its all utterly confusing - I just want things the way they have been.   How do I get back to that or don't I have a choice now?

I don't know exactly what happened to your listings, but it might have something to do with this latest announcement from eBay on February 1st.

Back in May 2018, we made updates to the available return policies.

The five new return policies are as follows:

  •      No returns accepted
  •      30-day buyer-paid returns
  •      30-day free returns
  •      60-day buyer-paid returns
  •      60-day free returns

Check and update your listings now to ensure they are up to date with the current policy. Learn more about how you can maximize these options here.

What is it that you are trying to do?

Last year, eBay eliminated most (all?) things that we used to be able to customize ... the strategy is that all eBay sellers should have similar policies.
