Why doesn't eBay coordinate seller events?

With all the discussion about the horrible Black Friday / Cyber Monday response by eBay, I was wondering......

Why doesn't eBay create shopping events, notify us sellers, and create a sitewide standard, say 20% off. Any seller that wants to participate, all their listings will be 20% off that day? Then eBay could run a banner that links to all sellers that want to offer that deal.

Now they do it with select sellers. They might have a 20% off tech coupon and only for the 8 sellers they want to promote.....

Or a standard price for a certain item? They could advertise an iphone 6 for $50 and any seller of an iphone 6 that wants to participate could be listed.....

I can run a sale on my own, but people have to stumble onto my listings to know that they're on sale.....

We think thats a great idea.  Anything to help with sales would be great.  It seems to be slow for a lot of sellers latley.  Best regards

i believe and think ...because they have so many sellers and so many items...adding something like this to there already over loaded system...might just be too big for them....
