I painstakingly developed a bunch of drafts to list throughout the year and then I noticed that Ebay only keeps them for a small period of time! What a waste of my time! Doesn't Ebay know that this would boost "their" sales if there was unlimited amount of time for drafts??!!

You may want to try TEMPLATES instead of DRAFTS. They last forever, but you're allowed only 50 of them. I delete them as items sell. My pictures don't last forever, however. Whenever I use one of my templates, I have to re-upload my pictures (unless the template is fairly recent).
I know how much effort it takes to prepare a listing. Hope use of the templates helps you.

Hi, lost some drafts myself, and the time limit had not even been reached yet. Some kind of glitch. Disheartening to lose all that effort. Know how you feel. So sorry you lost yours as well. Extending the deadlines would be so beneficial to lots of people.

I recently entered about 50 drafts until I found out that you only get 20 and each time you add one more over 20 the oldest one will drop off and disappear. I was upset about all my wasted efforts but I found out that once I started posting the drafts that the ones that disappeared would come back, one at a time, and drop back into the 20. I did end up with all 50 after all but had posted them in less than a months time. No idea if there is a time limit associated with this process.

Why does ebay remove anything? Seems they would benefit from having us do less work; so we could do MORE BUSINESS. I don't know. I mean, I know nothing!

"Why does ebay remove anything?"
Because storage space is not infinite.

I've been trying to figure out the Shopify sync with Ebay. Not having much luck yet, but haven't given up.

If I have drafts I want to save for longer periods of time I just schedule them for the maximum amount of time in the future, then keep updating the scheduled date until I am ready to list the items. Yes it is one more thing to remember but better than losing them.
I found that even within the 45 day limit for drafts, I was losing some or all of the photos attached to the draft. Not sure why it would be any at all, but just some seems like a real glitch.
