Why all bids are counted ?? Is this a scam ?

hope you are fine, have a nice day

I am Anouar from Morocco, I sell on the eBay platform local products from my country directly to the customer through an eBay broker

I have a big problem: This is a product I put in, starting at $0.01 for 10 days

Any ebay only counted $1.25 for me, it was not calculated for me, another $1, $1, $1, $0.45 and $0.30 means a total of $5 is required to get $5

Not $1.25

Is this a scam??????

Whoever understands me and explains to me, explains to me. Thank you

Auctions sell for the high bid not a total of all the bids that were ever placed.  The amount will go up if another bidder bids.  Starting an auction at .01 is risky as it could  sell at that price.  But there is no scam going on.

There is a shady form of "auctions" called penny auctions.  Those do add up all the bids in total. Those are not auctions and eBay has never worked that way.

Are you asking about the amount selling price increases with each bid @nahalanouar?

Click here for the bid increments chart. Bid increments are based on current price.

@nahalanouar

Hi Anouar-

Honestly, given the things you are attempting to sell really don't need to be sold auction style.  If someone bids 0.01 and they win, you will have to honor the sale.  You cannot make money with bids that low.  You'll be spending more and that's not what sellers are here for.

Most of your items are pre-owned and pretty random here on ebay.  I would also re-think the price of that old torn up wallet.  I seriously doubt anyone is going to pay almost $24 dollars for it.  I wouldn't give you 24 cents for it.

My suggestion is to avoid auction style listings with best offers and list all your items at a fixed buy it now price with immediate payment required checked off.  NO best offers either.  This way you can accumulate some sales and eventually be able to list more items.

Have you heard about the Ebay Academy?:

https://academy.ebay.com

A valuable tool that all new would be sellers should consider. It can teach you some business strategies and give you some ideas about products, what sells and pricing.

Good luck should you choose to enroll.

Have a great day.

@nahalanouar

It appears this listing sold last Friday (Sept. 23).  It was an auction listing, and you had 6 bids, with the winning bid @$2.00 USD and $1.00 shipping.   The highest bid was the $2.  That plus the $1. means that is what you will start with BEFORE eBay takes all their fees and you pay for postage.  I doubt there will be much left for you, and depending on where you have to ship, you might just end up OWING more than you got.

Thank you, but you did not answer me about the problem of auctions that do not count

Loving this is the real price my friend wants to sell at a loss. The price is not worth how much you want to pay
?

Not $24 is only $11.99 from a wallet and $11.99 shipping Do you want to recharge for free and lose this selfish thinking about yourself or not mistaken? Ask yourself a mail in Morocco and make sure?

I lose in shipping I did not understand? This is an injustice?

Sorry but you are a little confused as to how EBAY auctions work.    You do NOT receive "total of all bid amounts"  $1.25,  $1,  $1,  $.045,  $.030.    At the end of the auction you only receive money from highest bid $1.25.

Also, bear in mind from that $1.25 EBAY will deduct selling fees.    EBAY selling fees based on (purchase price + shipping costs + sales tax) plus 30 cent handling charge.

I usually sell the products I own at random, even though I put them at a real price

Normal, at first, I will specialize in a specific category of special niche products that I want to understand abo

The bids did count and the last bid was $2, which the item sold for.

If you want more money for the items, don't start the auctions at $0.01.

Have a great day.

Yep, that's what the OP was asking. Didn't see it before.

You only get the amount of the final bid @nahalanouar.

If buyer 1 bids $25 and buyer 2 bids $26 and buyer 3 bids $27, winning the auction - you only get $27. Buyers 1 and 2 do not have to pay for an auction they did not win. Only buyer 3 will receive the product, therefore only buyer 3 pays. None of the buyers agreed to pay $78 so you would not be paid $78 ($25+$26+$27).

If you have 3 products, you list fixed price and get paid for each sale.

You only listed one product, therefore you only get paid for 1 sale by the buyer you're shipping to.

You appear to lack basic understanding about the way auctions work.  Further reading is recommended. eBay offers lots of education in that regard.

"Why do you think your opinion does not count bids? I want a guide and clarification"

Well . . . . I think there are a lot of language considerations and meanings lost in translation but  . . . .

My first suggestion would be for you to go back to eBay's Moroccan site and look at the small print at the bottom of the screen.  You should see whatever the correct translation is of the words "User Agreement."

The User Agreement is essentially the laws, the rules, the policies and procedures, even, if you will, a guide and clarification of how eBay works.

That would have to be better than coming onto the American boards, asking your question, getting a number of answers -- and then asking why one person's "opinion does not count bids."  That can sound very rude -- impolite -- to most Americans.

Hoping you can get your answers.

@nahalanouar

The buyer pays the shipping cost as well as the price of the wallet.  That's almost $24.  No one is going to purchase it.   It's old and warn out. The price is too high.

It's clear you are not familiar with internet sales and have little or no experience.  There are members here who are top sellers and have been sellers for more than 20 years.  They are giving you good advice. Consider the Ebay Academy.  They can help you.

Best of luck.
