I am thinking of using a background remover app. I would appreciate it if you could let me know which one you believe of the three is best for selling vintage gold mining jewelry. The first photo is the scanned original.
You can use 1,2,3 for your picks. THANKS MUCH!

#1 - the drop shadows gives a 3D 'real' look to the piece.
Normally I prefer white backgrounds but not for everything, particularly smalls like that where it can make them look 2D. Black is too artificial unless it's black velvet, which has depth.

Rolling with #1

#1, with #3 coming in a far second.
#2 is just too harsh. I hate seeing those stark white backgrounds. It's jarring to my eyes and frankly makes things look cheap and fake.

All 3, you're allowed 24

Number 1 looks good, 2 looks generic, and 3 is too dark of a background.

I would go with #1, I'm another person that doesn't generally like the pure white backgrounds. #2 has no "depth" to my eye.

I'm going with #1 as well -- it's easiest on the eyes.
I also don't like plain white backgrounds.
I think the details show up the best with #1.

I think #1 shows the item the best.
#2 is too stark, not always a fan of all white backgrounds.
#3 just seems too dark, have a hard tine focusing on the details.

#3 but #1 isn't too bad. I would also add, I am viewing on a desk top with good size screen, what I see and how I might view might be different then a phone or tablet. Another thing that comes into play is how the screen is setup. #3 seems sharper.

I like the grey one the best, it looks real, with shadows and tones.
I find that the white and black one make it obvious you used a background tool. I'd say if you want to go black or white, find a cloth in that colour and use that (which is where my white backgrounds come from on my jewellery, I use navy blue for one series of banknotes).
Also using tools takes time, so IMO with time being money, it's best to get the right background when you take the photo.

Maybe the reason #3 looks great to me also
