I just went through some of my listings and see this option for buyers to pay 40 bucks extra to get an item sent to an authenticator. I am a dealer in this merch for over 30 years and been on here 15 years selling it and I do not want my items going to an authenticator to get lost stolen, mis authenticated and peeing off my customers because they have to wait for shipment. I will remove any listings where they are allowing this to happen. I do not want the hassle of this program.

This is COMPLETE STUPID to put on my listings when I am a dealer in this merchandise and have been for 15 years on here. Why in the world would a buyer have to pay 40 extra bucks to BELIEVE I SELL AUTHENTIC ITEMS. It would be different if I wanted this service on my listing. I DO NOT.

Money grab for sure. You mentioned you are a dealer of said merchandise. I noticed on some listings (not yours) that eBay has added "Authorized Dealer" on some items. Do you have that added to your listings or can you? Not saying that is the issue but wonder if it makes a difference or not.

Yeah. I have to call them and find out what is going on and see if I can stop it.

I do see the retailers that deal with this directly from their factories also have to have this authenticity thing on their items that are over 500 bucks and they must be really not into that at all. That of course has been going on for awhile here overall for 500 bucks and above.

Also these retailers deal in handmade stuff that takes 30 days to make anyway and THEN the customer has to wait for the authentication as well probably pushing the time to even get this item well over a month. I see that many of these folks will not list these items here because of this. Forgot it. Nobody is going to wait a month to get something.

There are only a few dealers in this merchandise on here that sell it direct from the factory and I have seen this appear on their listings as well. They have to buy it from the factory and they also sell it on their own website. These are items that are already authenticated by the manufacturer and come with certificate of authenticity. The same as what we sell in the same manner. I would venture to ask this other dealer if this is completely annoying to them because why in the world would they HAVE to send this stuff to an authentication service. I suppose ebay wants buyers to have the option of double checking these folks that ARE authorized dealers, but I cannot see why a buyer would want to do that with these top notch sellers on here who are clearly dealing in authentic merchandise. They are I guess experimenting with a new revenue stream.

I told my concierge service CSR rep I am having a hard enough time selling this stuff to begin with at the price I have to pay to obtain it and that slapping a 40 dollar fee that the buyer has to pay is just not gonna fly on this stuff, so If I cannot prevent this from happening I wont worry about it because they are not going to pay that. Especially when they see that the merchandise has certificate of authenticity with the item from the manufacturer.

So last week I revised all these listing with this 40 dollar authenticity charge optional for buyers to buy on these listings and thought I had gotten rid of this. This looks bad on our listings and there is absolutely NO reason people need to spend this additional 40 dollars on items we have on here. These items come as pictured with the certificate of authenticity from the manufacturer. It makes us look like people should not trust us. 19 years on here with zero problems with authentic items and repeat customers. I hate to think these customers would pay that on these authentic items or even think they have to . I am not happy at all.
