I believe feed back has become out dated and really doesn't really work at this time. I sell a lot of products and leave feedbacks after 30 days, if I haven't got one from the buyer. It seems that less than 80 % don't leave feedbacks at all making this concept a waste of time. The last feed back I received was on Feb 23 more than a week ago. It's time to update it or get rid off it. Just my opinion !

I rarely leave feedback anymore, typically only if I have received it or if the buyer/seller asks. I quit when I left a seller a neutral (should have been neg) after an awful experience and it was removed. You can't leave bad buyers negatives, so it is a biased system. Useless.

If feedback were really "outdated" then google reviews, yelp and Facebook would not put so much emphasis on them. People would not use reviews to base decisions on calling someone for a product/service.
What is outdated, is thinking reviews don't matter. Lots of studies have been conducted and reviews are the most common and powerful tool at shopper/buyers disposal. Everyone practically today, offers some way of reviews. Your "personal feelings" have no relevance in this matter. Reviews are going nowhere anytime soon.
And before you try to get technical, feedback and reviews are exactly the same thing.

Feedback is often the only way to recognize fraudulent or hijacked seller accounts. Although scammers can have 100% feedback, or good feedback numbers, by looking at the actual feedback received you can learn a lot about the user history as a seller. Even if a seller has no negatives, you can certainly spot a lack of positive feedback history for selling items in a particular category, or see that the seller has only received feedback for selling certain kinds of items.
Many buyers would never consider buying an expensive item from a zero feedback seller; without a robust feedback system, all sellers would be effectively zero feedback sellers.

I receive well over 70% feedback on items sold in the collectable area. Feedback as a buyer is very important to me. Would not buy if feedback was abolished.

I give feedback to the buyer upon shipping my item, They paid they get postive feedback I know this could bite me yet I have very little problems with buyers. Regarding getting feedback from the buyer lately it seems that I am getting only about 50% that respond ( never have had a bad feedback). I agree though I would not want to see feedback abolished it is a valuable selling tool.

I find feedback a valuable advertising resource. I have had customers purchase from me and not seller B because of my higher feedback store, even if I was priced a few dollars more for a widget. I always give feedback, it is just so easy to right click, the same day as I ship, sort of a vote of confidence for the buyer. And giving feedback to buyers can help smooth out any potential conflict. There is no downside.

Feedback on here became outdated when they stopped allowing negative feedback for buyers. No point in it now. I only leave feedback when a buyer asks about it.
