The good OP, I believe,

is confusing Sales with Profit.

It's EASY to do 1 million in sales.

Simply list 2 million dollars worth of 20 dollar bills here

at half their true value ... at 10 dollars each.

Not that you'll be back to read this, but there are quite a few factors that need to be figured before this can be answered.

How often do you get your items?

What is your average cost of purchase?

What will they sell for?

What is your sell through rate?

How quickly can you get items listed?

How many returns do you expect?

How much does it cost to ship them?

And probably many more that I am forgetting.

(not in order, and not inclusive)

Gross Sales

Net Sales

Cost of Goods Sold

Contribution Margin

Gross Profit

Net Profit

etc.

I was just looking at that item.  Why do people buy those?  I don't see how you will ever get your money back let alone ahead on em.

And I see some are buying 10+ at a shot.

There has been a seller featured in one of the posts on the boards awhile ago for inspiration who sells in the multi miilions. She is a lawyer who went into the sales of consigned high value designer women's items. I will mention her store here Linda's Treasures. She started out small and now has a huge business here. It can be done. I am certain it took a lot of hard work and patience and persistance and a lot of good business know how.
