I'm Seeing this on all my items for sale. What is this?
is eBay subsidizing the seller for the lost revenue?
for example i have item x for sale at Buy it Now for 100.00
the prespring sale brings it down to 85.00
wil I receive 100.00 + shipping and handling, per my original price?
best offer prices are being reduced by 15% as well.
Whats going on here?
thanks

You will receive the entire $100 + shipping and handling.
Ebay will subsidize the 15%.
It is for items over $25, minus shipping).
It will bring buyers in. I know I bought something today.

This is at least the third in the last week? ish?
It's getting towards the end of the quarter, so eBay needs to boost their numbers. What I'm reading from this is that sales are way down.

Seller gets full price, buyer gets a discout.
If you want to take advantage of it and buy
something yourself do it before it ends.

This sale isn't doing anything to boost my sales. This week has been horrible for me. I've only been getting around 1 sale per day when usually I get at least 3. If they need to run a sale like this, that must mean that eBay's sales are down.

I have a item ending thursday afternoon bidders are now emailing and asking me if I'm going to be honoring the code that ebay spammed them with? 900 page views thats alot of spamming...

That's what everyone reads into almost everything eBay does at the end of every quarter.
And yet every quarter for the past five years, their numbers have been up yer-over-year.

I have my own theory about this. The stock market. I notice a bit of a correlation on stock market volatility and eBay sales. There's a bit of a slide in the consumer confidence index released today. I think people are realizing that this February stock market correction is part of a bigger change in the equity bull market. The volatility has persisted and the consumer is becoming a bit unglued. 😞
thanks for the responses. If eBay is subsiding this, that's quite a large percentage off the top for them. I'm glad they are doing it. Thanks eBay for your generosity.
is 15% off on best offer for real as well? I have a high ticket item, and that would be several hundred dollars for eBay to subsidize. What a bargain for the buyer.

Same here. I had my eye on an item for $29.99. Seller relisted it at $34.99. I was kind of miffed, so I didn't buy it--until today, when the 15% coupon code made it $29.76.
I was happy because I got it for less than the seller originally listed it for. Seller was happy because s/he got more than s/he'd originally listed it for.
Win/win!

Yes, but have they ever given out coupons like this? And 3 in less than 2 weeks, for everyone?
I also think something’s up.

#1 was 3/9 for 20%
#2 was 3/20 for 15%

Hi Emerald,
Just purchased my Turbo Tax Home & Business.
Very few sellers this year of this and many of the feedbacks indicate bootlegged software.
The feedback on the seller I finally found today has the best feedback of them all that I saw.
