What is the easiest way for me to list Railroad books on E-bay? I forgot how.

I am 74 and have forgotten how I used to sell on E-bay.  My account is still active.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just find the same book listed using a search.  Then use the "sell similar" option.  Remove the photos and insert your own into the listing.  Double check the listing details.  Use your own description.  Then push the list button.  It ain't rocket science.  Just make sure your payment and banking details are current.

@chesterrm

I started listing some recently myself.  I use a variation listing for mine, but I have a lot more books to add to it yet.

If you don't have a lot of books, you can list them one by one.  I would recommend using the Buy it Now method, just set a price that is reasonable for your book.  You can search for a book title on the site and see what others have sold for (not what they are asking for).

You will be classified by eBay as a new seller @chesterrm . I suggest getting familiar with the new payments process, fee structure, identity verification and more before you jump back in.

New sellers are targets for scammers that will make fake offers and try to get you to text or email them outside of eBay. Using fixed price listings with immediate payment required will cut down (but not eliminate) the number of those scam attempts. Keep messaging on eBay and don't fall for attempts to get you to change the shipping address, or claims the buyer cannot pay saying you need to click some kind of link or contact them off eBay to make payment work. If you have any more questions come back and ask.

If it's an expensive item, I suggest using "local pickup only" and not offering a shipping method. Until you build up a selling history it's best to sell low priced items.

If you haven't sold anything in the last couple of years you will need to enroll in new MANAGED PAYMENTS (that is how you get paid).   You must provide your checking account# and social security# (for tax purposes).  Name on your EBAY profile page, checking account and social security card must be EXACT MATCH (or your application may be denied).

EBAY deposits money directly into your checking account 2-4 days AFTER sale is made.

New seller funds hold 15-30 days.

Thank you so much for this simple explanation.  I am sure once I get back into it, my memories will slowly come back to me.  I sold over 2000 items before I stopped 20 years ago.

Hey Doug - shipping has changed a lot in that time. If you have any shipping questions along the way, post them here: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping/bd-p/shipping-returns-db

Off the bat I'll tell you accurate package dimensions are just as important as weight these days. Also, your account will be defaulted into passing carrier discounts to buyers so if you plan to buy your labels at the post office, you'll be paying more for all services except Media Mail (where there is no online discount). You can change the setting if you want.

You'll also be paying fees on total amount buyer pays (item + ship + tax) so you'll probably want to add a handling fee to your shipping - or build in to the item price - the amount you'll pay on fees for shipping.
