What is an EC range as it aplies to decals.

Item specifics are demading an EC range on the decals I sell. There is apparently no option for "does not apply". It provides several choices but no useable explanation of what it is.

Any help?

What is an EC range as it aplies to decals.

We had this happen in seasonal on several items.

We listed them and then went to bulk edit - it came up in what looked like was a "blank box", but if I clicked on it, I could type in Does Not Apply and tab to the next and it would save it.

eBay has wisely (??) added this, and many others, to many categories with no way to say "NA" -

People creating specifics that have zero clue of the items or selling.

Im unsure what as sellers we are to do especially when it is "required"

OK I admit I googled it but seems to be the ideal temp for applying decal

Such as warm or cold temp

The options include

A+++-G

A+-F

A++-E

and a bunch of other letter and + - combinations.

I'm not sure how that relates to temperature.

From a more cavalier point of view - if NO ONE understands what it means that what difference does it make what I enter? And by extension why is it there in the first place?

When I looked it up in the "plates" area it was for EC = Electrical Conductivity.

Thank you. But I don't see how that would apply to a plastic/vinyl sticker.  Neither of those materials conduct electricity.

Is it under the required or the recommended section? If it's not require then ignore it. EC range may apply to certain types of decals based on the application, but it's not relevant to the type of stickers you're selling.

Sometimes item specifics don't make sense for all products in a category, but they are there for a reason. When that's the case just leave it blank. I remember in coats there was an item specific about the warmth and the choices were very technical. While that would apply to certain types of coats for outdoor activities, sports, camping, etc, it would have no relevance for a basic wool winter coat. When it applies fill it out, when it doesn't you can leave it blank - as long as it's not in the required section.

I tried that and it didn't work.

BUT what I did discover was that the stickers listed in "Home & Garden > Home Décor > Decals, Stickers & Vinyl Art" demanded the info BUT the stickers listed in "Sporting Goods > Outdoor Sports > Skateboarding & Longboarding > Stickers & Decals" and "Collectibles > Transportation > Automobilia > Decals & Stickers" did NOT require the information.

So the answer to getting rid of the demand is obvious.

So while your specific answer didn't work your answer did push me in the right direction to finding a solution.

Thanks.

It is under the recommended section. BUT I keep getting emails from eBay prodding me that XXX number of you listings are missing recommended specifics. Just trying to make that stop. And every time I open my for sale list they prod you. I have been gradually shorting the list.

While I have no way of knowing for sure I suspect that listings missing specs are not getting as good exposure as those that have the specs. IMHO

You can turn that off. Communication preferences under Selling Activity.

@richard1rst

That is weird, I have mine up and it shows all the ones in item specifics I have entered + required and it lets me type in and save "Does not Apply" in any of the required.  Is this an optional IS or a required IS?

When you get to bulk edit, you have to click on the "edit" link in the item specifics to the right (scroll over to that section)

So very sorry - glad you figured out there is more than 1 category to list these in.  There are so many non-nonsensical item specifics it is maddening.
