I suggest you start small. You can sell things around the house you never use. Many drop shipping companies say their items sell themselves, your very own money machine working 24 hours a day. No, it's not that easy. You want to get a good feeling for selling on eBay before you start a store.

At this point, your plan should be to read everything possible about HOW to sell on eBay/HOW to be a good seller. If you have never sold online before, you really need to read ALL of eBay's help sections about selling and KNOW all the rules and policies pertaining to selling on eBay.

hello friend. Dropshipping gets a lot of bad press. It is a very viable business for a beginner. You will be surprised to know that many big retailers actually dropship many of their products. Yes there will be hiccups, yes you may have an unhappy customer but that comes with any and all businesses. I want to encourage you to try it. Forget all the negative comments on the internet. Your experience is going to be unique to your circumstances. I'm telling you all of this from experience. I have two ebay stores. one is a clothing resell store and the other is a dropship store. The dropship store is new. I have only sold 1 item. But its a start. So I'm going to keep going. I was researching products when I found this feed. Never give up my friend. It will be so worth it. Please reach out. I will tell you everything I know. Peace and blessings

This is an ancient thread, and you're recommending something you have no evidence of it working, but that many other sellers have gotten themselves in big trouble trying to do.
To anyone else reading this, please do not get into dropshipping without doing extensive research. It is possible to do well, but very difficult.

Hi, Quite frankly dropshipping is never a good idea. AND, never - ever - never a good idea for a seller who is just starting out. You may want to "get your feet wet" by buying a few thrift store or yard sale items that you think that you can resell for a little profit and try your luck. Also, read & study everything that eBay has to offer on the ins & outs of doing buisness thru. this venue. (everyone here will tell you that the water is deeper than you think) After you have a feel for things you can try your hand at dropshipping - If you are still interested. Good Luck! (J.B. from N.J.) -- Ooops Sorry - did not notice how old this thread actually is.

Bad idea. You have no control on what , when of it the items get shipped. Also, any returns you have to refund and then deal with the drop shipper. You can find drop shippers on Google or Yahoo. It's unlikely you will make much money however.
New sellers should start small and with items under 25.00 until they build a feedback track record.

Success as an Ebay seller requires among other things
A quality product
Reliable and safe delivery
A product cost which is close to that of the bulk of your competitors.
Customer service skills for when things go wrong, which they will.
You are willing to cede many of these important functions to someone else who you do not know.
Many of the companies who seek out online sellers to buy and have them drop ship cannot deal with major brands. They often rely on channel leakage or low quality unbranded or commodity products.
There may be one or two companies making a profit on what you buy and you are paying for the profits of those companies.
Products go out of stock. Many companies which provide dropshipping lack sufficient stock and YOU suffer because Ebay holds you accountable for their actions.
Buyers object to poor service. Buyers object when they discover they have paid more than if they bought from a legitimate source.
The easy money was made years ago. The best selling products on Ebay have extremely tight profit margins, and have restrictions from the manufacturer on who can sell them. Many manufacturers will not honor warranties on any Ebay sale or on sales through these dropship firms.
These companies are usually taking advantage of people who cannot afford to lose money, Most Ebay sellers will lose money on some sales, some of the time. Decide what you can afford to lose. Newbies will make some errors, will be targeted by frauds, cheats and crooks. Newbies rarely know how much they need to learn.
