So eBay has said buyers are responsible for editing all their listings from First Class shipping and their won't be an automatic conversion and that they have 30 days to do so. What happens after we hit the 30 day mark in the next 1-2 weeks? Will my listings just end? Will they be hidden? I can't find any clarification anywhere on what the consequences would be.

Hello. I believe in one of the podcasts this is covered. Also look for the tutorial on bulk editing so you can get all your listings with the correct shipping. Mostly don’t worry. eBay is providing us with more tools to help manage our listings as the platforms change.

Which podcast? I would like to know the outcome, if they just flag everything that's first class so I can easily change them and don't have to try and manually pick out every media mail item or free shipping item I have, I'll just wait.

If I read right, ebay extended it to September to change over listings.

The USPS announced the grace period on June 27, saying it will accept all legacy products without penalty or assessment through September 30, 2023. The grace period will also allow for the receipt of parcels already in transit for delivery at the time of the implementation of USPS Ground Advantage.

Is the only problem that the buyers see 1st Class Package on the listing rather than Ground Advantage?
My change over was easy since all 1st Class Package was in a business policy. Took all of 1 minutes work to change ~375 listings.
Over on AMZ, they sent an email informing of the USPS change. I have not been instructed to do anything and the labels were still printing as 1st Class Package when I last checked later in July.

I don't think eBay has explicitly said what will happen but I can make an educated guess......
If you use Calculated shipping it will cease to work, if you use Flat Rate shipping you might be ok.
Instead of waiting you need to start revising asap. If you are not using Business Policies then now is the time to start.

If a eBay seller has 1st Class Package in the listing, is the label already printing out as Ground Advantage?

Yes

Although it has been said that the switchover wont be automatic, I bet it will be.
Just a hunch.

I shipped an item yesterday and it was switched over to GA. Didn't update my shipping preferences either. Not yet anyway. PS I shipped an item home to Hawaii via Ground advantage and it took over 2 weeks. Guess I'll be shipping to the family priority from now on.
Have a great day!

Keep in mind that it is only your listings with First Class PACKAGES shipping that will need to be converted to GA. Your items that can ship by First Class letter and First Class Large Envelope/Flat do NOT need to be converted. Get familiarized particularly with flexible First Class Large Envelope dimensions and weight requirements on the USPS website.
I looked at a lot of your listings. You and I both sell in the same arena of items. I noticed that many of your items can go by USPS First Class Large Envelope/Flat as long as they are under 13 ounces, max dimensions of 15" x 12", max thickness of 3/4", and are not rigid so they can go thru the sorting machinery. I have hundreds of these items myself, mainly craft patterns. As long as I am not concerned about lacking a tracking number and I give my customers a heads up of that, I have only had a couple legitimate INRs out of thousands of such mailings over the last 25 years... my business model can easily handle that. The cost of USPS First Class Large Envelope/Flat is a real cost savings over the new GA and even over some Media Mail costs.
To my knowledge, eBay has not said anything about dumping the USPS First Class Large Envelope/Flat rate, but I imagine they will still have it. I believe that the reason why there is no blanket automatic conversion that they have instituted like they did for FC Packages is because they don't know what sellers' items need to be converted. I use stamps.com for all of my shipping, they have already done the GA migration for former FC Packages, and they will still have the letter and FC Large Envelope/Flat for my use going forward.
Yes, it is a bummer to have to go thru all of your listings to determine which FC ones need to be converted, but it still has to be done due to the USPS changes. I did all of mine over the period of 2 days because I don't use eBay Business Practices.
I hope this helps.
Cheers, Duffy

Thanks for that info, although sad to hear.
I was wondering how GA would be in and out of Hawaii.
So far I haven't received any complaints from customers.

Being fairly close to DFW airport, anything I have ever mailed to Hawaii has been 2 to 3 days max. Mostly 2 days. Even mail on Saturday, gets delivered Monday.
I live an hour out of Dallas but they still get it done. Doubt that changes.

Something of which I was unaware, until I began re-configuring my USPS First Class Package listings to USPS Ground Advantage: Many of my previous listings which I had previously listed as shipping with USPS Priority (due to the former weight restriction for USPS First Class Packages), can now be shipped as USPS Ground Advantage -- at a cheaper price than USPS Priority.
Small blessings -- but I'll take 'em. . ..
