What else can be done?

My partner has been selling on eBay since 2012. It was a part time enterprise for him until 2015 when he decided to sell full time. Since then he has built the business to a $150K annual business. He had 2negative feedback in 2016 and 1 neutral in 2017.  Less than 1% returns mostly didn't fits or didn't like it. I do the purchasing for the store.

We have dropped since April to selling 2 items in the past week for a total of $98.  Normal weekly sales used to be between 2 and 3 grand. He is very good at pictures, pricing. I do most of the Customer Service work in the evenings. We have very very good feedback and many repeat customers.

So, nothing's changed on our end. What do we do now? Diversify.....started doing that in May, but its a very slow process with me working full time.  Not buying anything at all. Can't, but we do have a very large inventory. Primarily jewelry and Collectibles and some high end Art.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't want him to have to return to work. His education necessitates working in a very high stress environment. Mine is pretty much the same as well.

Throw me to the wolves and I'll come back leading the pack.

So sorry to hear that but know you are not alone! There are so many issues contributing to lost sales it's hard to keep up. I would suggest adjusting your prices, but if you do, you would then need to wait 14 days before being able to put the item on sale. Maybe try opening Best Offer on items ? If you are able to participate in the Guaranteed Delivery program, it may boost visiblity. Lastly, make sure your items are in the proper categories as buyers have been complaining about not being able to find relevant items.

I have had only 1 sale in July, which is a first for me. My sales had been consistent since last August, then completely tanked.  Hopefully things will turn around Smiley Happy

Hard to say without knowing or seeing what you sell. You say they are great pictures, good prices, good descriptions, but so does everyone else.

Run sales in certain categories. Offer a promotion discount for multiple purchases. The whole issue could be summed up in your statement "So, nothing's changed on our end." Unfortunately, sometimes things have to change.

Again, hard to give you more precise advice without knowing what you sell.

Very difficult to advise when we cannot see your listings, as there would be no way for us to tell you how you may improve them,

From the OP:

I understand that jewelry is a big seller right now. Collectibles is a harder category. High end Art may be difficult as well.

You could check completed listings to see what is selling and why. Also what is not selling and why.

How do your sales compare with June/July 2017? 2016? 2015?

Have you massaged your listings for mobile shopping?

I'll assume you are up to date with the new Returns demands. With so few problems it sounds as if you don't have many problem customers.

I moved my GTC listings to 30 day and now allow them a 'rest' of two weeks to a month if they go unsold. My categories are all slow moving, so selling a book that has been on my shelf for three years doesn't surprise me.

The move to 'freshen' listings does seem to have made my current sales a little better than 2017 though. (2016 was a short sharp shower for Canadian sellers, with multiple problems across the board that were specific to Canada.)

Are you selling everywhere you could?

If you are not already selling internationally you may want to look into the Seller Protections  of the Global Shipping Program.
