What does it mean when it says that someone has your item in their cart

When I check out some of my items, it will sometimes say that "this item is in someone's cart".  What does that mean?

Means that a buyer was shopping and put one of your items in their shopping cart, but have not pulled the trigger on buying it.

Could be in their cart and they are not even looking at eBay any longer.  When they go back into eBay, the item will still be in their cart unless they delete it.

It is meaningless.  Some people use the cart like a watch list, and like the watch list many of us, including myself (blush), only get around to clearing such lists about once or twice a year.  Although I might guess that both types of potential buyers can be sent offers.  And I do make a high proportion of my sales by sending offers.

That means someone has the item in their cart. They could be deciding whether or not to buy it. They could just have then item in their cart and forgot it was there. It doesn't mean much until they actually click "go to checkout."

ebay sucks. they allow anybody to put your items in their carts, even if they never intend on buying. many bad actors or competitors will do this so you cannot see your 24 hour view count. once somebody puts your item in their cart , the 24 hour view count that runs runs across your screen no longer will showcase. this is not good. instead of other potential buyers seeing a large 24 hour view count consistently, say 50 to 250+ views every 24 hours, it now only shows "Item in cart," and the 24 hour view count across the screen is now gone because somebody put your item in their cart.  ebay should allow the seller to see who has your items in their carts. the seller should have the right to block bad actors who practice this malicious act which takes away interest from potential buyers, bad actors no this and ebay allows them to do this, which is insane to me. item in the cart on the screen vs 50-250+ views last 24 hrs on the screen, common sense. You'd want the 24 hour view count over an item in the cart. the view count raises interest and the item in the cart takes way that interest. ebay will not fix this smh.
