What does it mean to "set ad rate" in promoted listings?

If I promote an item and set the ad rate to the lowest figure possible, what does this mean? Does it mean I somehow get less exposure than if I sent it to 5 instead of 1?

You're going to get different answers. You already know mine from the private message. Everything depends on what the person is selling.

You have mostly one-of-a-kind (OOAK). There is ABSOLUTELY a market for your items. 1% has brought significantly greater results for me than anything higher. Again, it depends on the type of item, whether remaining in GTC (Good-til-cancelled), so many variables now. Everyone trying to figure it out, yet there is no one answer for all since all of us have different items.

I strongly believe you would benefit at 1%, no more. Try it for a couple of days, watch your impressions. See if they increase.

I wish you so much success. All comments are by people trying to help, but we all don't sell the same items. One may be able to figure out the Al Gore rhythm for themselves, but it may not apply to someone with completely different items.
