Hey guys. In your opinion what is the best time of day for an auction to end and why? What do u think the biggest day for sales would be? I'm gonna try doing sunday afternoons/evening. I figure people will be around on their computers then.
Any other input?
If I sold both domestic and internationla what would the best time be to end a listing?

Sunday eve between 6-9.
Although I sometimes get more bids on Mondays than I do all weekend. Strange but true. But as far as the ending time, yea, Sunday evening.

Since eBay is open 24/7 and auctions have even less "guarantee" of even being seen, there is now no longer any particular best time for auctions in general.

You are getting lots of bids with your current system, so why change now? It looks like you usually end your auctions on Saturday nights.
On the other hand, there are a lot of buyers who bid on Ending Soon or on Just Listed, so many sellers prefer to have new items going up constantly.
Do you find your Sundays lost to constant packing?
Perhaps putting up your unsold Auctions with endings on different days would help with that and also catch those bidders who like to get in early or at the last minute.

Global Shipping Program is a good Seller Protection Program. As a Canadian, I am required to detest it.

Like you said 24/7 and YES the OP's items ARE being seen. For the love of God, please stop the rumours. Auctions are ALWAYS seen until they are over.
OP, IMO best dates for auctions are Sunday and Monday evenings.

There are some good answers here, and as with most things eBay, "it depends".
If you're selling Stratocasters (that's an electric guitar), Sunday morning early is probably a bad idea, most buyers of that product are asleep then (assuming you're targeting a U.S. audience). Saturday night might not be good either, since the reason they're sleeping Sunday morning is they're out partying/playing on Sat. night. Similarly, Christianity related products probably aren't a good candidate for Sunday morning (buyers are at church).
Traditionally, more people tend to end auctions on Sunday, although I don't know if eBay has managed to stamp out that tradition over the years (they're doing pretty good at stamping out Auctions in general).
Sundays are popular with what I sell, always have been, and I end mine then. Most of my sales are to U.S. / Canada, I tend to ignore Asia/Australia/Europe in that calculus... although if I suspect demand is going to be strong in one of those places, I'll at least try to avoid 3 am in that time zone.
I would be tempted to do some Auction Only research for your particular items... see if you can find any day/time in common for items that sell for very high prices (or similar commonalities in awful low prices realized, to avoid those).
As it happens, I buy the same stuff I sell, all Auction format. I'm a bottom feeder, if I won your item, you're probably unhappy with the price it brought. I win a disproportionate number of listings on Fridays, so as a seller I would avoid Fridays in that category.
Thursday night is "maintenance night" and my Watch List is sometimes non-op on Thurs. night, so I avoid ending my items then too.
I sell a lot to repeat buyers. I always end my items on the same day / approx. same time every week, so my repeat buyers know when to expect the items to end (about half my bids come at the end).

Yep, tis true, I see all of them - over and over and over. When I am looking in one of the areas I collect, I see everything - over and over again. Then, I remember to take it off Best Match. It gets sort of irksome to be on page 3 of looking and seeing the junk that you already passed over coming back up again .... and again .... and again .... and again. Sometimes, after a while, I get to wondering if there are really 2000 items listed, or only 100, 20 times.
(Yes, I know one must doctor the search, but it has taught me to do a general search seldom - unless I'm REALLY bored)
To the OP, some people work nights and weekends - there are a lot of 'off hours' people in the world.

I'm with Ted. It totally depends what you're selling and your target audience.
Timing is most important where search results are huge and there is no easy way to narrow them down by keywords. Say perhaps striped printed golf shirts.
If your potential buyer is a weekend warrior and tends to be out hiking, gardening, hunting or skiing, then Sundays may be a bad day to end.

This has long been said but any time could be fruitful. Maybe stagger days and ending times. Good Luck.

Sunday night is the busiest time on ebay, however I absolutely hate that, because it means that I need to spend 2-3 times as much time in the morning browsing through the days offerings, and I will invariably miss something as list through the neverending stream of stuff ending at 8 PM. It also means that as the sum total of my daily bids grows, I become more cautious and skip some items and/or place lower bids.

I'm with you. Multiple items ending simultaneously does not please me.

I agree with what others have said that it depends on what you sell and who your buyers are. We sell mostly business related items so we get the most traffic during business hours. This is from our website but eBay seems to follow a very similar pattern. We schedule auctions to end only on weekdays between business hours.

Very true, for most items, anytime in the evening would probably be just fine.
However, I do avoid ending auctions during the standard work hours, as lots of people don't have desk jobs so you really aren't maximizing the items visibility during those hours.
