I'm selling an older midi controller from a line that's evolved into a very minimal design.
I'd like to use the promotional video for the device from the vendor/distributors YouTube page but I'm not sure if this is allowed or not.

Ebay has not allowed video links for years because you can make a deal on youtube comments section and Ebay would lose money. But I did have a rare record I sold recently that was slightly warped. I wanted the potential buyer to be able to see the warp before buying, so I just said. "I will post a video on YT called...."

Oh. Gotcha. There's a section about videos in their links policy page. But if they're not allowing them anymore I'll just ignore that and play it safe. Thanks for the heads up.

Videos links ARE permitted. There has been confusion about this for years now. But the Policy page is correct. If you follow the rules laid out there, you'll be fine. You cannot have a video that actually OPENS in your listing page. You can have a clickable thumbnail link that opens in a new page. Here's an example of a permitted clickable thumbnail link:
