It's time to ditch the spreadsheet. Works well and is relatively simple but with my increase in sales lately I'm selling 250-300 items a month and it's just taking too much time to keep it up to date.
I tried Seller Ledger. It's excellent - simple, automated, and covers all the basics. Except there is one feature I need that it does not seem to do - lot numbers. I buy in bulk (think: by the truck load), literally thousands of items at one time. 99.99% of the time I don't have an actual count of items, much less an inventory, and much much less a cost I can assign to each individual piece, and it's not something I have the time or inclination to do. Each purchase is assigned a lot number. Cost of goods goes into my records as a single entry with that lot number. The lot number is added as part of my SKU which goes into the Custom Label field in the Ebay listing. I've been keeping track of individual sales for each lot number in the spreadsheet using Ebay's reports. Sales and expenses are totaled via formula for each lot number so I know exactly how much in sales I get from each lot. This is essential because I use that information to guide my bids and offers when I purchase new inventory. If I don't have this information, I have to go by "feeling" and I've burned myself before.
I need software than can import my lot numbers and associate that with each transaction, or at the very least allow me to edit the transactions after the fact to add the lot number. Any suggestions? There must be something out there, I know I'm not the only person who does things this way.

I have my own data base built using Microsoft Access. I've used it since I started selling on Ebay back in 1999. It serves me well. As things change, I can change my data entry screen and revise my reports as needed. It is a very good and simple program.
