Watchers of a Listing being "eliminated" when the item is unsold and yet relisted

When I have an item on a 7 day auction and it doesn't sell Ebay wants me to relist but they wipe out all the potential buyers that have clicked "watch item", sending the watchers to zero. Stupid.

List fixed price then the watchers will stick around. One of your items had a lot of bids, but the rest sold with only 1 or 2 bids, which says fixed price will work for most of your items.

These items will land in the "Ended" section of their Watchlist, and when you relist them be tagged with a note that "The seller has relisted this item."  So, not stupid.  If they didn't bid on it the first time around, they're probably not going to bid on it the next time around anyway, unless you lower the starting bid.

If the item didn't sell, I wouldn't worry to much about the watchers it had, they were just that, watchers.

Have a great day.
