Waiting for payment glitch

Customer made offer for an item that I accepted on 5/8 but didn't pay. This morning I went to send 1 last invoice before I was able to cancel order for non payment and after the invoice was sent the order showed the order date of yesterday then I hit the refresh screen and it changed to today then hit the refresh screen and it changed to 5/5!!! What gives????

If you send a new invoice, it resets the date. There is no need to send additional invoices. The buyer gets a notice upon agreement to purchase and then eBay will remind them later.

There's no reason to send an invoice unless you have to make an adjustment, for example combined shipping costs or adding another shipping method the buyer requested.

eBay sends out payment reminders to buyers automatically. Sending invoices is a duplication of efforts and clogs the buyer's inbox.

Sending an invoice locks in the shipping cost. That could have a big financial impact on someone that uses calculated shipping. The shipping price gets locked in based on the buyer's default location, but if they change the address at checkout to have that item shipped to Mom across the country, that shipping cost can change by leaps and bounds and seller is out the $$.

Finally, sending an invoice resets the clock on when an order can be cancelled for non-payment when sellers handle UPIs manually. The automated system will cancel based on the seller's settings regardless of sending an invoice, but when you use the manual process and an invoice is sent it resets the clock, giving the buyer an additional 4 days before the system will let the seller cancel.

Sending invoices out will change the date to pay. Never send buyers any invoices. eBay does that for you to the buyers. That includes multiple items purchased. Don't combine items purchased on different dates. All you can do now and wait to cancel order unless buyer pays. If buyer doesn't pay I suggest blocking them.

I have never had that happen..sent an invoice more than once to a dead beat, and it closed 4 days later.

Are you 100% sure?

Sending an invoice has reset the date for a very long time, perhaps since eBay eliminated third-party checkout about 15 years ago.

It depends on your unpaid item settings. As I mentioned above:

Sending an invoice resets the clock on when an order can be cancelled for non-payment when sellers handle UPIs manually.

The automated system will cancel based on the seller's settings regardless of sending an invoice, but when you use the manual process and an invoice is sent it resets the clock, giving the buyer an additional 4 days before the system will let the seller cancel.

So if your UPIs are cancelled on auto settings, it will cancel on time so you don't have to worry about the date in seller hub.
