Ebay moved the description today! It was hard enough for buyers to actually look at the description which results in a lot of returns. Now they actually have to click in another spot to even view the description! This is going to be a disaster Ebay! The biggest reason for returns for us is because buyers don't look at and/ or use the information we provide in the description. Now Ebay has basically hidden the description which will result in even more returns and unhappy customers. Not sure who is making these decisions, but this is going to be a DISASTER for all of us.

All part of eBay's transition to "shop by picture" and if the buyer doesn't like what shows up, no problem, free returns paid for by sellers. eBay wants you to pay PL fees to sell stuff, PLUS have to sell the same thing over and over again. You can thank the square-peg/round-hole leadership at eBay for the fecal show this site has become.

It's a way that ebay may increase sale numbers, reading a description may deter buyers from making the purchase.

I noticed that today as well. Now buyers have to click more to see my auctions. Now I'm forced to use eBay's condition, example, "Near Mint or better" in Specifics but my description will show the real condition, "Near Mint/Mint". "Description" and "Shipping" info are only a click away as eBay crams more promoted listings into my auction space. eBay is turning into a joke for us sellers and I'm not laughing!

I stopped selling on ebay a couple of years ago due to all the crazy changes. I only come back to once in a great while to buy something ( last time was over a year ago ) and check if it's changed enough to come back. I see I won't be coming back to sell anything here anytime soon. If they are trying to chase away certain types of sellers, it's working. This will be especially hurtful to vintage sellers. Some things you can't see in photos.

You must have missed the pinned post in the Buying forum. These changes are done with the purpose of "simplifying" and "modernizing" the buying experience.
And nothing quite says simplification like just outright hiding the item description but instead having links to 50+ other items right at the buyer's fingertips!
Before long, ebay won't even need a search engine. When you log in, it will just take you to a page with links to items that other sellers pay to have put there, and each of those links will take you to a page with links to more items that sellers pay to have put there.

I still see the descriptions. Hopefully what you are seeing is just temporary.
Edit - In another thread someone posted a screen shot and I have to agree that
it isn't a good idea to have to click the description link. But I'm still hoping that this version is just a test and not the final view listing page.

They're more interested in using you listing to promote other sellers items. I have a difficult time finding the link for the description. As time passes, it gets closer to the bottom of the page. Might as well put it next to Contact Us.

The need to click a description link has been around a long time on my end. Poor web page design.
