How do view counts drop?  lol   I have a listing that had 43 views.  The number dropped to 35.  Now it is down to 29.   What an incompetent website.  There is an old saying that if you give enough monkeys a typewriter, one of them will type out a sentence.  Are these monkeys being paid by eBay?  Will they get it right eventually?  😛

Views are only counted for the last 30 days, and it's been that way for a little while now.

All views are counted (for 2 years), the display of views in the Active Listings only shows the last 30 days, if you want to see more than 30 days check post #3 by @evry1nositswindy

Only if you manually ended/sell-similar'd the item.  But for an auto-relist I guarantee you didn't see the views reset to 0.

Happens all the time because it's showing a rolling 30 day look back. Take the collectibles the OP sells which can be long-tail items - they could have new listing momentum and views when the listing is first posted and over time, as the item doesn't sell and the listing's performance drops it in search, those views drop down. It would be very easy for his views to show X one day and 0 the next because it's showing a rolling 30 day total.

It's not the act of the auto-relist that "resets" views. When there are no views in the past 30 days that changes the count to 0. It's not surprising to hear the timing may coincide with the auto-relist date since that's on a monthly cycle and say the item had views the first 1-2 days it was listed and nothing after that - it gives the appearance the auto-relist reset the view counter when really it was views aging off after 30 days.

That makes sense, thank you.  Still, not a glitch or anything nefarious.

Note that views can also disappear if the system later realizes that a view is a bot view.  Not every bot and scraper presents itself to ebay as what it actually is, some masquerade as a web browser and it takes the ebay system a little time to figure out it is an automated system and not a person.
