Prior to purchasing a set of sheets from an EBay sell I sent them a mesage asking them if the 800TC, 100% egyprian cotton and care instructions were on the packasging and or on the sewn in label. I was informed yes.
I purchased the sheet set to sell in my brick and mortor retail store.
I did receive the sheets. The insert card in the sheet set does have 100% egyptian cotton as does the sewn in label along with care instructions. However there is no mention of the thread count.
Without any visual mention of thread count it now becomes "he said she said".
I did receive a full refund from the seller. However I have noticed many listings of sheet sets ranging from 400-1000 thread count with no photos of the packaging to verify the claims made in the various listings.
I believe EBay should make it manditory for sellers of sheet sets to verify their claims of thread count with a visible photo of the packaging validating the thread count.

The last thing sellers need is another ebay mandate.
In the future only buy from those showing the package or ask that they add one to the listing before you buy it.

A better strategy might be to simply buy from sellers who take the time to voluntarily include enough information in their listings.
Requiring a photo would not accomplish that ... because a seller who is willing to lie to you in a message will also be willing to lie to you in a photo.

So what happens when and if the manufacterer lies do you blame the seller yet again?
