Variations

eBay clearly states variations are NOT for different items, but so many trading card, magazine, and comic book sellers are violating the rules and using variations to sell totally different comic books, cards, and etc.

A variation is not different cards from the same set as per eBay's own rules page. Listing different trading cards or comics in the same listing as a variation would also violate the manipulation policy from what eBay has personally stated to us.  A variation is only for a different color, or size of the vary same item, and not two totally different cards or comic book issues.

But yet I see message boards on here stating that if the category has the variations option you can pretty much list whatever you want?

Can an eBay moderator actually answer this once and for all? They have suspended people, and accounts for listing card different cards, and comics as a variation, while others keep doing it. There is even an option to report people doing so since those types of listings are really offering a choice and not a variation. Choice listings are against the manipulation policy.

Is there some new rule that allows people to violate the variations and manipulation policy? Listing 100 items that are not variations as a variation is stealing from eBay, by what eBay has stated since those items should have been listed as individual items. eBay 100% need to clarify this. So many sellers I doing this, even though eBay at the same time is shutting people down for doing this.

Just because a variation option is available does not mean you can violate the rules, and list different items.
