Variation Listing question

I have been selling for a long time but just started using variations in my listings.  I am selling action figures and I only have 1 of each usually.  I tried to set up the shipping where it would automatically combine (with $5 for first figures and then 50 cents for each additional figures bought at the same time).  it only seems to use this rule when I set multiple items of the same select from the from the drop down menu and does not seems to combine when I sell two or more selections from same listing at the same time.  I hope I made that clear enough.  Is there a special way to use this rule on multiple different items within one lsiting in addition to using it when I sell more than one item of the same figure.  any help appreciated.

"it only seems to use this rule when I set multiple items of the same select from the from the drop down menu and does not seems to combine when I sell two or more selections from same listing at the same time."

??? Are you saying it only combines correctly if multiples of the same figure are selected, but incorrectly when different figures are combined?

I just looked at one of your listings and selected the shipping quote option for multiples. I chose 3, and it showed me a total of $6.00 combined shipping, which is what you are saying is correct. In the listing, under the shipping, I assume you have $5.00 first item and additional at .50 cents. Correct?

From just looking at the listing, the shipping is showing to me as what you are wanting it to be. Do you have a different "rule" in your shipping terms that is perhaps overriding this specific listing?

Variation Listing question

I appreciate your trying that.  I had a buyer that bought 6 figures and he sent me a message that the shipping charge was $27.00.  maybe he just didn't put them in one shopping cart or something.  so I think it does work. will see what buyers say in future.

You have figured it out correctly.

The $x for each additional" in listing ruleonly applies to the SAME item in a listing. Different variation items are NOT the same item.

You have to specify and enable a combined flat shipping rule (or calculated), same as for combining items from separate listings, for it to work correctly. https://cgi5.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SellerShippingPreferences

Variation Listing question

I will take a look at the flat shipping and profiles to see if I can work it out.  I don't want to necessarily have this same rule apply to all my listings.  maybe the profile will let me limit what it applies to.  appreciate the help and information. thanks

On the listing form there should be an area that you check off if you want the combined shipping rule to apply.

You can have multiple combined flat shipping profiles, can name them them, and can specify which one is used in a particular listing. (calculated combined shipping not so much - you get only one profile but can determine when it gets used)

Ignore the top arrow pointing at the rate table stuff - that graphic was for another issue but is close enough - but shows the in-listing checkbox and dropdown for multiple combined flat rate shipping rules once they are set up in the site settings.
