My Dad used to sell under the Collectorholic1 name back in the early 2000’s. He wants to re-activate that name but doesn’t know how or if he can. He had over 1000 positive feedback back then.

He should be able to find the name, but he will need his password to access it.

And does he still have the email account that was used for the eBay account?

Once he has that he will need a Managed Payments account to get paid.

Since 20 years have passed, you may have to help him with changes to the site.

For example, Stores are now in Search and he can't accept cash, cheques, or money orders as payments.

Around 2005, eBay changed the requirements for account passwords, increasing the number and type of characters required.   Accounts which had passwords that did not meet the new requirements were advised in advance, but if they didn't update their passwords before the deadline, then the accounts were considered abandoned and were closed.

A search on the ID Collectorholic1 shows no active account, so it's probably not accessible any more.

@noapologies91  I did a search for that exact username, and it says that user id is not found. So your Dad can try to create a new account using that name. If you're asking if he will be able to get the feedbacks and history that were associated with that name 20 years ago, it's highly unlikely. If a person hasn't had any recent sales, even if their account was not closed, ebay will require that they start as a new seller. This is to protect  sellers from making costly mistakes  because they are inexperienced. Many things have changed on ebay, so they want to make sure that all sellers are aware of the current rules and fees, etc. Your Dad has an advantage as he does have experience and apparently did well on ebay. Best of luck!

It's not uncommon if it's been that long. Tell Dad to open a new account.  A lot of things have changed.  No more Paypal for payments, holds on sales for new sellers and also selling limits.

Here's a good link for you both to look into:
