So apparently when you cancel your store and pay an early cancellation fee eBay then decides they want to keep you paying them each month. This is the subject of a message I got today where I can upgrade my store (expiring at the end of October) to the next level for 2 months for free. No thanks.
Shame on you eBay for tanking sales for all of us with GTC, Managed Payments, Pay to Play called "Promoted Listings" and the manipulation of search. And also shame on eBay for allowing buyers to dictate terms now. All of the sellers are taking smaller and smaller percentages of a smaller and smaller sales base and buyers know it. They are taking advantage of nervous and stressed out sellers. I have had more fraud attempted on me in the past 3 months that the previous 14 years.
Shame on me for thinking that 14 years of strong sales would result in another 14 years of strong sales and buying into the con that a store would help with listing fees and stocking a store to over 500 items and now having to give them away to pay for the cancellation fees. Shame on me for actually thinking this marketplace cared about the seller along with the buyer.

I have received the same offer, I just renewed my store a couple of months ago. I just think that the lack of sales are starting to be felt by ebay and they are trying to draw sellers into spending more. Just a thought.

I closed my store a couple weeks ago. Every other sale I had was complaining. Break the item for a refund was too much for me.
Your best bet is to branch out so eBay isn't the only site. and I'm on year 16 here.

I've been selling on Ebay for 20 years without a store. I took advantage of the 2 months free store last month because GTC has really messed up my system of using the free listing promos. Although I think the basic store charge is worth avoiding the aggravation of babysitting listings 24/7, I can't see paying any more than that with sales and prices so dismal.

I just got the email too. That's a regular promo they run. I feel like I get it at least twice a year.

Just received the same offer. NO Thanks. Would be interested in upgrading a basic store ( 500 listings) $22.00 to an Advanced store or Basic store Plus ( 1000 listings) for $40.00. But going from a basic to a premium (1500 listings) for $60.00 is unrealistic and not profitable for small E-Bay sellers. I have been selling on E-Bay for over 20 years and have been gradually been doing better every year. But, paying $22.00 per month and then jumping to $60.00 per month is too much. E-Bay needs another tier for the smaller sellers.
