Really ebay? I am actually thinking about closing my premium store, what a joke. It's like a slap on the face.

I have 300K in inventory and one sale for $17 in the last 3 days.

What is the Promotion?
Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who activate the offer and then upgrade their eBay Store Subscription, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein,
will be upgraded to the next level tier (Basic to Premium or Premium to Anchor), and will receive a flat discount on their eBay Store Subscription for two months from the start date of the upgrade

E bay is trying their best to get sellers to do promotions for visibility. That is so wrong and after the 2 months you gonna pay reg fees for the up grade.  A committed for the term to pay higher.  E bay needs to back off the promoted stuff. As they should do that for free for all sellers items.  If a item is selling good with high numbers. It will show higher in search anyway.  If it is a item that dose not sell good.  Why in the world would you do the promotion just to get it higher in search. When you gonna have to up the price to cover the promotion charge.  If it was not selling no way. it is not gonna sell with the higher promotion price for sure.  Just get more views of buyers saying to themselves no way. They are not going to buy because e bay promotes.  Buyers already know e bay will not refund money on not one item they have on this site. They force the seller to refund out of sellers pocket not e bays.  That is like the gallery plus larger photos they offer to sellers that they pay more for. A real disgrace to the seller. As they should give all listings the gallery plus with no charge. They would make more sales that would = more $ in final value fees. That way all the buyer buying on the little phones they can not see what your item even looks like. But if they gave the galley plus free they could see the photos of items better. Would give them more money than the fee they are charging for lots of things that should be free for all.  You are right a real joke.  I hope you best in your sales.  They have been killing themselves for a long time. And will keep doing it.  All the features e bay charges for that could be free would up the bay sales if they could wake up.

I got it too. many, including myself, have been begging for years for a store between Premium and Anchor. Until they hear us, I will downgrade before I upgrade.

i laughed my butt off first time i got one of those, 2 weeks or sointo my first premium store subscription several years ago.....i still think their attempt is hilarious .... in a not good way!

didn't i see a post thread on here about ebay trying to entice naive sellers or something?   but i guess we're all naive somewhat since we're still here ....  oops am feeling that urge tooooooooooo, dang, it went away and i can't remember what it was.........

Just got this message too, and I'm getting sick and tired of all this begging for more money from ebay. Meanwhile, they cut advertising, sellers going broke, and their response is to beg for more money to pad their bottom line and keep investors happy.

 

Why would anyone want to upgrade their store if sales are falling off a cliff for months on end? No one in their right mind would.

 

If ebay's CEO actually made an effort to put sellers first, this platform would blow Amazon away. The focus is always on how can ebay make more money, when it should be how can ebay better support its sellers so it can make more money.

 

ebay should change their slogan too, "Upgrade your store now so we can promote your competitors identical items in your own listings and tell no one to buy from you!" Nope.

 

This is why GMV went down another 4%, and why so many sellers are going broke. That, and no traffic.

 

Promote Now, Give us More Money, Dump Out Your Wallet! No....

I completely agree. Got the same promo to upgrade my basic to premium. Ummm, Hard Pass !! I am counting the days until I can dump this basic store and go back to my little starter store, 100 listings. I used to get 2 free listing promos every month for my little starter store. Since upgrading in Feb to a basic, I have not received one free listing promo.

 

Stupid me, though I would have more sales with more listings. All I got was increased costs/fees and decreased sales. 5 sales for the month, day 20 and two of those were best offers, very little $$.

Very likely I will box remaining inventory in 3 or 4 months and be done here. Just too much stress and clutter in my house for a few $$$.

I upgraded. I did it to get a boost in sales. And it seems to be working! I did not want to do it but I am at the point where I need to try something. I could be wrong but I think that when you upgrade you get a boost in sales for awhile as all you listings are refreshed. 😕

Wow.  Unless you are selling rotary dial phones and Radio Shack gift certificates, eBay is purposefully penalizing you ... you must know why ... do you?

I think this myth has been pretty much debunked.  What you are experiencing is coincidence.

 

You can refresh listings yourself, it that is all you are interested in ...

No, actually I sell in almost every category, been for years. Sales started going down back in 2012 but now they are becoming  worse. Tell me why please.

I did notice this one, unlike the one I got suckered into a few months ago, actually gives the full "promotion window" (ie the 2 months) to cancel rather than the ONE month I was given to do the same.

 

When I asked why I was offered a 2 month reduced rate promo but only given one month to cancel, Trinton's "explanation" was that by accepting the offer I was contracting to a full year's subscription with the first 2 months at a reduced rate and that if I cancelled then I wasn't 'entitled' to a reduced rate for 2 months. Erm no, I signed up for a TRIAL period of 2 months TYVM. I couldn't back out of that alleged "contract" fast enough (especially given the difference between a Premium and an Anchor).

 

Reality is the leading cause of stress.

I'll likely keep my Premium and Basic stores, but busily reducing listings so I can downgrade my Starter back to a non store as sales on that one have fallen off a (very steep) cliff this year.

Yea, I just got the SNEAKY TRICKSTER Must cancel after 30 days with a 2 month trial. BIG NO THANKS. Wonder how many they will reel in with that one?
