Unwarranted negative feedback

Hi all. Quick question... I recently tried to sell my computer on here. I put it up as selling to the USA only, no international shipping.  Apparently the bidder/winner of my auction didn't care to read that part of my description and bid from Mexico. He then tried to pay with an international check to PayPal, which didn't go through, and PayPal deemed it fraudulent and cancelled it.

After 10 days the entire transaction was cancelled through Ebay and PayPal, however the bidder left me negative feedback for not sending the item- which is still on my profile. I've reported the bidder twice already and nothing has been done. How do I get this removed?

Thanks!!

Katie

Unwarranted negative feedback

You'll have to call up Ebay to get it removed. Almost all feedback you want removed will involve a phone call.

Even then, Ebay may simply state "that's the buyer's opinion of the transaction" and keep it there.

For future listings, if you only want to sell the US, disallow all other countries/regions in the auction. You can also set this as default in your selling preferences.

If Ebay won't remove it, you should reply to it with something like "Ebay canceled this transaction due to fraud on the part of the buyer"

Saying US only is not enough.

You need to actually block all countries you do not want to deal with and block all foreign currency and non paypal accounts.

You will need to call CS to get that removed.

You need to have your blocks set up so this doesn't happen.

@kmckay333

To block non-US addresses for shipping in eBay:

My eBay>>Account>>Site Preferences>> Shipping Preferences

1) Offer the Global Shipping Program: if this says NO, leave it be.  If it says YES, opt out however you can  🙂

2) Exclude shipping locations from your listings: Edit

Check ALL of the International Locations

Hit Apply

Then

My eBay>>Account>>Site Preferences>>Buyer Requirements

Click on "Show"

Block Buyers Who>> Click on "Edit"

Check off "Buyers in locations to which I don't ship"

Check off "Apply above settings to active and future listings" and "Don't Allow blocked buyers to contact me"

While you are on the above page ... look at the other auto-blocks. Most sellers use the Unpaid Item (2 within 12) and the Policy Violations (4 within 6).

You can also block buyers without a PayPal account linked to their eBay account.  I used this block in the beginning, when I was new, but removed it because it blocks Guest purchases and any direct Credit Card purchases (CC processed through PayPal as a guest).

On PayPal, you can block payments in a currency that you do not hold.

On a Business PayPal, this is under Profile>>Profile and Settings>>My Selling Tools>>Block Payments" ... I don't know where it is on a regular PP account (it has been too long LOL)

There are 3 things to check off:

1) Allow paymenets sent to me in a currency I do not hold = No, deny the payments

2) Block Payments from users who = Have non-US PayPal Accounts

3) Block non-US shipping addresses

Again, there are other blocks available there .. look them over and see if any apply to you.
