Understanding Offsite Ads

So sellers can pay a minimum of $5 a day($150 per month) to attract internet surfers and potential buyers from other websites, lure them to their listing on eBay, where they will be shown the item and 50 other similar ones from multiple sellers. BTW, it will take eBay weeks to optimize your campaign so that's like a $100 start-up fee. Meanwhile, I have buyers who have zero history on eBay and registered the same day to make a purchase. I can only assume that my promoted listings standard campaign is still attracting offsite users. My conclusion is that Offsite Ads is just another way to donate to eBay's cause. Does this sound accurate?

sounds like a good business plan to me. Corp. mgt. number one job is to make money. This could do it if enough people fall for it.

There is the issue of them turning off the traffic until you comply. I've been told by eBay reps "You have to pay, if you want to play".
