Anyone having problems with buyers wanting to purchase more than one BIN but eBay requiring them them to purchase right away and not being able to request a total? I have a buyer who wants to purchase more than one BIN item. I had this happen myself when I purchased multiple items. Had to pay the postage then ask seller to refund overage I paid for combined shipping fees. Do I have him give me the item numbers, then change BIN fees to reflect my combined shipping rate???

Don't they have to add the item to their cart before they can request a total. If IPR is set they would have to pay immediately to buy now.

@kenandbetty IPR = Immediate Payment Required.
To use the cart feature and request a total it will only work if IPR is not checked on the listings and if they are not "free shipping" listings. IPR is a setting on the seller's end. If you're in communication with the seller about the combined shipping then let them know why you are unable to proceed further using the shopping cart.

Or ebay could force IPR for listings .... as they do in some categories for items under a certain $ amount.

DK- yes, eBay does automate IPR now, however since it's a behind the scenes setting (the IPR box on the listing is not auto selected by eBay) it does not affect the ability to add items to the shopping cart and request a total. A seller checking the IPR box would prevent the buyer from requesting a total in the cart, however.
If the listings had free shipping that would also grey out the cart's request total button. Then there is always the possibility that the cart is glitching again.

"Don't they have to add the item to their cart before they can request a total"?
No as long as the seller has some form of combined shipping they do not, as long as the items are not IPR. Buyers can commit to buy items, and in the purchase history all of them show up in a box with the seller's name/ID and there is a request a total button there. Since I do a mix of auctions and BINs and my items are often of completely different sizes, I can't set up combined shipping rules, and auctions do not work with the cart. I can send combined shipping invoices manually. And have used the Purchase History method of requesting totals several times, as a buyer.

It is a seller's choice to use IPR. However the drawback to using IPR is having to go through the refund process if a buyer buys different items, even if a seller has combined shiping rules set up. The "rule" Buy 1 pay $X each additional add $Y only works for multiples of a single item #. If they want to buy 1 each of three different items, even if the rule amount is the same for them, they would pay $X times three. That is why I do not use IPR.

Sorry they are phasing it in
Everyone should take the time to read this post & Trinton's reply
Much like the Best offers being upped to 10 They feel we sellers will figure it out one way or another, Announcements aren't needed!!!!!!!!!!
They are going to keep all the FVF on any shipping refund overpayments & are phasing in the IPR like it or not.
It's a waste to have your combined shipping rules set up for buyers to purchase from you for a week or even ebays recommened 30days in your site preferences.

Interesting. However, none of my BIN items have the IPR box checked. Frustrating!
