WHERE IS E-BAY? Of Course MIA - when this really matters to eBay sellers:
CALL TO ACTION: Save the U.S. Postal Service
The U.S. Postal Service has become one of our most essential services during the COVID-19 crisis. It is the means by which millions of Americans can access staples like face masks and disinfectants. It is delivering social security checks, tax refunds, and coronavirus stimulus checks. It will also play a major role in the 2020 elections.

Ummm .. what is it about the USPS that needs saving? And what can eBay do about it?

...my dearest eBayer...solely eBay won't be able to save USPS...sorry...!!!
...it's destroying within itself by bad managements, shady deals, and the Unions...but the blames were always on their employees...

A go fund me to help save USPS ?

All I can help is using USPS services. Like their pricing (especially with Ebay discount), free packaging, pick up, convenience. For domestic
"Little" pricy for foreign so can not help them there.

You might want to forward your ideas and concerns to Bezos at Amazon.
He's abusing the postal system at a reduced rate so he can make more money.
The Chinese can send packages to the US for pennies. Have you ever tried to pay return shipping for that same package? Try $30 and more.
American consumers have absorbed every postal increase while the big shots and scammers get a discount.
USPS has to work at saving themselves.
They have a new CEO. Just like ebay. 🤔

Now cool it for a minute..Unions are the reason most people have Saturdays off..I was a Teamster and hubs was UAW..My grandfather was in the sit down strike at GM. The reason the post office is in big trouble is Amazon and the deal they made with them..somebody wasn't thinking very clear when this deal was made..I agree, I think the post office is about the best deal around..but you know what they said to hubs dropping off an Ebay shipment last week? "Oh my god another one, will never get out of this alive" Right now, I don't think they like us sellers, serously...I just think this all has to end cause everyone is jumping at each others throats, listen we are all humans and all Americans on this site..its coming to an end lets don't let this crisis win..Ok?

Unions have had their place in American history, but the basis behind them has gotten distorted with corruption.
Our small town post office got slammed with Amazon packages today. Some carriers had to make an additional trip back to town mid-route to pick up the ones that wouldn't fit earlier.
My postmaster is a great lady and she feels bad for her carriers when there's days like this. And sadly the post office doesn't make the money they should for all those Amazon deliveries.
Take some cookies to your post office next time you go.
And profoundly I agree, we're not about to let this crisis win.

First, the reason Chinese shippers can send things to the U.S. for pennies is the Chinese government subsidizes those package deliveries. If the U.S. Government did the same it would cost trillions of dollars, funded by taxpayers like you and me.
Second, the USPS has VOLUNTARILY given Amazon reduced rates because they do so much business with them. The USPS has operated in the loss column for many, many years -- long before Amazon became a major player. Amazon has actually helped them keep the lights on. They literally pay the USPS to deliver on Sunday. If you have Prime than you shouldn't be complaining: the reduced rates Amazon gets is how Prime exists. Amazon operates and has operates on razor thin margins. They lost money for more than 20 years as a company before becoming profitable.
Third, if you're going to be upset at Amazon you should be upset eBay, Mercari, OfferUp, etsy, Pirate Ship, Stamps.com, et al. because all of them have similar deals with the USPS for reduced shipping rates. Be careful what you wish for because if this was eliminated you can kiss those reduced shipping rates of up to 23% we get good bye.
Forth, the USPS has been begging for a bail out for over a decade. This COVID-19 pandemic is just another excuse for them to try and get one. The main reason they need it is they have these insane pensions they can't afford to pay out because the pension system is horribly mismanaged. When negotiations have taken place in the past about a potential bail out, the unions get in the way because they don't want any compromise (i.e. we'll give you a bail out but you have to do X, Y and Z).
Fifth, the USPS' message for needing a bailout makes no sense. On one hand they say they need a bail out because they've lost billions in revenue due to businesses being closed because of COVID-19. On the other hand, record shipping and postal demand is causing unprecedented delays. It can't be both.
Sixth, the local post workers are all good people and I have a lot of love for them. Their Union representatives... not so much.
Seventh, we need more competition in mail delivery, Lysander Spooner (Google him) had it right. It's actually illegal for any company to compete with the USPS in First Class mail delivery. That needs to change.

(quote from yours)"...They have a new CEO. Just like eBay..."
...how could you know about the new General Postmaster...???
...please let's us know anything you could reveal about this gentleman...seriously, greatly appreciate it...!!!

My postmaster shared this news last week. I think it was in a USPS press release as well.

I could honestly care less if Amazon is profitable or not, they need to pay the same rates the rest of us do. Same goes for certain ebay sellers who're also getting a free ride from the US Postal service.
You have sellers here shipping movies and games for $1.50, while it costs me $2.80 to ship a movie, and $4 to ship a single game.
Maybe USPS wouldnt be broke if they didn't allow people to ship for free.
If Amazon couldn't make a profit for 20 years, that's their problem, not mine or the postal service.
I personally think we should charge Amazon a special tax and charge them 5X as much, as well as lock up bezos in a cage at the zoo where he belongs.
As long as I have to pay $4 to ship my games, others, including Amazon should have to pay the same.

I order A LOT of stuff from Amazon, including most of my business supplies. I care that they get good rates because that's how Prime exists and how I save money. Prime is one of the best things any business can get for itself. At $119 a year, you get free 2-day shipping on just about anything. That is incredible and saves so much money for individuals and businesses. What that represents is the reduced rate agreement they have with the USPS being passed onto consumers and businesses.
While I have to pay to ship the amount of savings I get in buying things from Amazon for my business and personal use balances it out.
As an eBay seller, you should direct your concerns over shipping costs at eBay for negotiating lack luster deals. eBay needs to work out something with USPS like Mercari and OfferUp have where there's flat costs for packages based on weight or dimensions.
Personally, I love Amazon. It's a flawed company, but one of the most innovative companies that exists and I feel has changed everyone's lives for the better.

Which sellers are getting that shipping rate, and who are they getting it from?

Amazon has cut its reliance on the USPS to around 30% of its packages.

Well, I know what I have to pay to ship, and Amazon needs to pay the same.
