USPS Parcel Select

Have you used it and was the delivery time reasonable. Also, any complaints from customers. Thanks in advance for any input.

USPS Parcel Select

I tried to use Parcel Select and for the most part worked out well.

There was just a few instances where it took around 15 days to receive the destination.

Because I was worried about negative feedback, I stopped using them and I primarily use First class for anything 1 lb or under. And alternate between UPS ground and USPS Priority.

Priority Flat rate can be a very good deal for smaller and heavier items.

Also, anyone correct me if I am misinformed, I believe there is no insurance for Parcel Select- if that is important to you.

Correct, re insurance. You can pay to add insurance to parcel select, but that frequently makes it more expensive than priority (with seller discount).

For the last 6 mos to a year, I've experienced really good delivery times for both media mail and parcel select. It's not uncommon for coast-to-coast delivery to be 3-4 days.

Thants so much for all your helpful replies. I'm sure you not only helped me, but many others in deciding how to ship an item.

@goldrushfinds  I've never used it, but it's going away imminently, so I wouldn't get in the habit of using it.  It's going to become a part of the new Ground Advantage, sometime soon.  I know there have been some posts, I don't recall the exact date.

It's true. No insurance unless you pay extra.

I would recommend padded flat rate envelopes as they pack really well

I use it all the time and it works just fine. Especially since priority has gotten so much more expensive than parcel post. When I offer multiple shipping option, my customers rarely if ever  opt for the more expensive option.

Every time parcel select pops up, I send priority.  The cost is usually within .50 cents.
