I posted this in shipping as well, just in case you see this there!!
So I had a package that was delivered on the 23rd, and I got a case that the item was not received. Not my first go round with INR cases. Posted the tracking, and have not heard back. I myself had a package that was misdelivered recently and showed up a week later. I had talked to my postal carrier, whom is THE BEST, and he said that now the USPS has the scanners with a GPS that will tell you where the package was delivered. My question is... Has anyone had luck in using this technology to avert scammers? Does it actually work (contacting the PO and requesting the package to be tracked I mean)? I am not super worried, it was not a great deal of money, and if the buyer was honest then it will run its due course, if not then I am sure i will get an "oops, sorry, I found it and forgot to email you" type of response. I am just curious, I have personally never used it, typically the package is found or I issue a refund. TIA!!

Maybe we should put die packs in all all packages. That way we would know for sure where it was delivered and who opened it after delivery

Awesome idea! But not cost effective. So I have to rule it out. 😉

I have been around when one of those exploded; NOT fun at all! It gets in your nose and eyes and you start tearing up and having trouble breathing, not to mention the coughing it causes.
I'm not a robber; just a former bank employee.

Haha, I was not serious, I was just giving a tongue in cheek reply to the tongue in cheek answer. I don't even think you can buy them on the open market.

If the GPS tracking is showing as "Delivered" then I would re-enter the tracking number into the case and have eBay close it in your favor. And I would not refund at all. You shipped/it was delivered, end of story IMHO.
Both Domestic and International buyers do this - not cool at all 😞

Why would you issue a refund when you have DC? INR when you have tracking showing delivered is one of the few cases sellers can win almost always on eBay.

GPS Tracking is not a thing that shows "delivered." USPS tracking shows package status and can be seen by anyone with the tracking number and access to the internet.
GPS can be used by USPS employees with access to the information. It is not available to the public.
It will show where the scanner was when the package was scanned as delivered but does not always prove that a package was or was not delivered to the correct location. The GPS info on the scanner is not always accurate.

I have only refunded in one case, and it was not for a great amount of money. I believed the buyer was honest, so I actually split the reund down the middle with her since it was neither of our faults. I judge on a case by case basis, and this buyer was a bit shady from the beginning, so I probably would not refund anything. My question was more about the GPS working though, not about issuing the refund. I don't really have any issues with the case. Thanks though!

This is more of the reason why I was asking- if anyone had ACTUAL experience and actually had the USPS provide the information. When done correctly, I think it would be helpful, but there are too many factors involved that may be erroneous. However, if someone says it was not delivered, and USPS shows it was scanned/delivered in front of their house, well it pretty much tells me that the odds are they are a scammer.
