Sold an item to a (I think) soldier in the Army-had a rank as part of his name. Got this when I looked at tracking;
Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location
Apr-06-19, 13:21 PM, WEST POINT, NY 10996
Out for Delivery
Apr-06-19, 10:24 AM, WEST POINT, NY 10996
How does this type of situation usually play out?? Even if this guy lives on an Army base, I would think USPS could get in and deliver packages, but I can't imagine any other access issues-unless some sort of dog was chained up in the front yard within reach of the porch-this is a LARGE package and would not fit in any mailbox.
I'm worried because A. this was a high dollar (but low fraud) item and B. It takes up a good bit of space-I DO NOT want it back as I'm trying to de-clutter.

No access means just that - for whatever reason the mail carrier couldn't get to the mailbox. It could have been anything - snowdrifts, a mean dog, the mailbox was a victim of mailbox baseball...who knows. The delivery will be attempted again tomorrow. (at least that's how it's supposed to work)

Meant to add not necessarily the mailbox in the case of a large package - the front porch or whatever dropoff location used. The carrier couldn't get to it.
