Two items, same bidder has first bid on both, has offered to BUY NOW but wants a discount.

I have two items currently available.  There are several more days left on each item, and several WATCHERS of each item.

The same bidder has placed the first bid on both items. 

That bidder messaged me, offering to BUY NOW for both items, but wants a discount for buying both items now.

Is that allowed?  Is it ethical?

If it is allowed and OK, what steps would I take to accommodate this bidder?

I am fairly new to EBAY sales, and have a 100% rating that I want to preserve!

If the bidder hadn't placed a bid, then you'd be able to revise the auctions to add a "Buy it now" option for his immediate use.  Now that's not possible even if you cancel his bids.

The buyer is probably trying to take advantage of you. The most likely reason for his offer is that he expects to get the items cheaper than if they sell at auction.  I recommend that you either ignore his request, or reply that it is not possible for you to accommodate him.

FYI, both items already have a BUY IT NOW option activated.  I believe the bidder wants a discount off those prices.  But the message sent was not detailed (and did not include any offer).   David

I would cancel the bids and block the bidder.

Buyers who haggle before the listing ends tends to continue haggling after they get their items and the seller is helpless to do anthing to stop them.  Especially if they are paying full price to get the items.

Once that bid was placed the buy it now is gone. The BIN only stays active for a few categories once a bid is placed.
They didn't want to pay your price on BIN so I would not end any auction early for them.
Let your auction ride out

I would let the auctions run, you will probably do better.
I always just say I do not end listings early, sorry.

@david_r_feeney, Just because you do not offer returns, does not mean your buyer won't be able to return the item if he/she claims it's not as described (for whatever reason).   Someone else more knowledgeable than I may come along to give you more much needed info for a new seller.   I wish you the best of luck.

I never think it's a good idea to make one buyer happy while annoying a bunch of others. Let it run.

You're welcome.  You didn't have to mention it.  You posted about 2 items .... I went and looked and noticed your No Returns Policy.    I always wonder why some people choose the No Returns option especially if they are aware of the consequences.

Did the helpful posters let you know that no returns only works if you know the limitations and how to use properly it in your favor?

That ebay's policies will trump any no return policy if a buyer wants something your item is not delivering.   And that no returns does not mean no refunds.  A lot of sellers will chose no returns and then are shocked that the only options open to them in a not described dispute is refund or return and refund.

No returns sounds like a good idea at first, but a better idea would be to talke a look at ebay's buyer protection, money back guarantee and ebay's seller protection.
