Trying to set a sale, need help!

Ok, so I'm trying to set up a sale for my store.- went to promotions manager- create a promotion- sale event- %- restrict by ID, individual listings- then it goes to categories and sub categories.

I have all sorts of old stuff for sale in all types of categories.  Do I really have to go through each and every one?  I'd have to go through my listings and open every listing I want to put on sale to find the sub category.  Ugh!

Any shortcuts out there???

Are you trying to put specific individual items on sale or select multiple sub-categories?  

For specific individual items you'll need a list of the item numbers and then select the option for individual items rather than categories and enter the item numbers.

I'm trying to list individual items.  So I'll have to go through all my listings and write down each item number. Then go back to the sale page and list them. OMG, is this supposed to be better than the few clicks it took before!?

Yes you have to either enter a list of ids or pick them one by one.

I would use FileExchange to export all my listings to a file, open the file with Excel and then remove all but the items I wanted to put on sale.  The copy the Item ID column into the "list item ids" window in the promotions manager.
