I sold a Louis Vuitton bag 256557024264 and I said it was in new condition with receipt. I thought the condition was great and looked new. Authentication passed it for being authentic and sent me a list of 8 things that they found wrong that made it not properly described to buyer as new looking. They returned it to me and refunded buyer. Talking so a supervisor I was told to list it as pre-owned and that would solve it. I listed it again 256572787942 and said pre owned but mistakenly had new with tags marked also. Shame on me. This time they passed authentication but listed even more problems with the bag and gave the buyer option to refuse which of coarse they did. they even said there was a slight tear in the original box. It was refunded again. The problem is the issues they list are not just exaggerated some are plan untrue. I have been selling on ebay for 22 years and if the bag was used looking I certainly would not try to hide it overall the bag looks really great so I am really confused what to do. I have a third buyer and now it is coming back to me for the second time. Can I refuse having it authenticated and just send it to the buyer after I explain all this to them or am I obliged to have it authenticated.?
If I'm not mistaken authentication bypass needs to happen at the time of listing it, once it is listed under the authentication process it is bound to be authenticated by the rules of the agreement. Whether a LV bag can be listed outside of authentication I couldn't say but I know I've never participated in this tomfoolery of a program.
