Good morning,
Years ago when Ebay had the Trading Assistant program I was registered with them and it worked out very well both for me and the owner of the items.
All of a sudden Ebay discontinued the program without notice and has not since come back.
My question is, I occasionally get requests to sell for others on Ebay as they see my store and where I live so they ask.
Is there a proper way to make a post to let people know that I am available to help offer their items on Ebay.
Suggestions are more than welcome.

I think with the tax implications, this would be something you wouldn't want to do. The items you sell would be reported on your social security number, counting as income. Would you pay tax on someone else's income? Just a thought...

I'm pretty sure if the OP was in the former TA program they know the ins and outs of that already.

That is such a silly argument. Most business sellers that do consignments know that there is a tax form to show payouts to consignor. 1099-misc is one way to show this.

EBAY does not allow anyone to exchange contact information (phone/address/email). You could advertise on Craigslist or NextDoor websites or you could include a flyer when mailing EBAY packages to your area.
Personally, I would not sell for anyone because of safety implications (don't want strangers coming to my home) and because of tax liability. Also, too many problems after the sale is made (EBAY holds seller responsible for lost or damaged packages) and there are too many scammers on EBAY now. Plus customers have 6-months AFTER item is received to try and "reverse payment" with credit card company.

One more thing who ever sold the items would have a contingent liability of up to 180 days for a credit card charge back claims. Plus setting up the listings getting photos, description is not a walk in the part. top shelf name brand stuff(s) may have to be authenticated and have original purchase receipts - way back when sellers coulded sell fakes and get away with it - just things to be concerned about.
Don't believe you will get any takers

The trading assistant program did not work out well for many who participated. It was deprecated for good reason.
With the greater interest in authenticity of items sold, sales of stolen goods, and the tax implications it is high risk to both the consignors and TAs.

Good morning,
I thank all who commented and it is appreciated.
On the old TA program, I only handled items that are used ( Lionel trains, train stuff, cb radios and such). I stay away from jewelry, china and items I really don't know much about.
Tax and stuff is not a problem to me as the tax to me is also incorporated in my commission. Photos and the time to prepare and make the listing is also not a problem. Yes, other than work I have a lot of free time.
Again, thank all of you and I think I'll look into this a bit further.
