Toilet Paper auctions

There goes your reputation...Toilet paper selling for $12,000, $8,000, etc. and $15 for one square. What a ridiculous thing to allow on your site. What a joke. eBay is now the page for anyone who wants a laugh. There goes your credibility as a trusted, respectible site!!!

Yes, I looked up the sold listings.. I couldn't believe it. I thought maybe they just bidding them up and not paying. NOpe, they are are actually paying.

I see that as well. I have reported eBay to my state attorney general's office over price gouging. I do see they have updated the report item feature. It now has under "Prohibited and restricted items" "Price gouging"

Sadly, because covid 19 hits older people the hardest(even if they're able to get to the hospital, the chances are they'll die vs younger people), they have to self-isolate themselves (stay away from crowds) , so many may not have easy vehicle access to the stores(where they might not find the items anyway because of panic-buying & greedy selfish resellers).  So how can they get their items.  By being forced to pay greedy resellers' outrageous prices!

Many in our city have offered our services for free including me to help elderly people or immunocompromised people get their groceries for them so they won't have to leave their homes and get exposed to the virus.

What if it's a buyer's only option to get TP?  You would rather they get nothing so your sorry snitch self can feel good about turning someone in? If you don't wanna buy it you don't have to, free market capitalism is what this country has been built on, don't like it move to a communist country

Everyone in my state California has to self-distance and keep 6 feet away from everyone else and only essential businesses  are allowed to stay open out and  individuals can only leave their homes for essentials like grocery, meds, doctors.

While everyone's at home instead of working everyone has to think::

Am  I just being a burden to my fellow man OR am I contributing to make my neighbors' lives better in this deadly viral war where everyone's help is needed??

The joke could be on some of these sellers.  For example this auction if ended today the seller would be charged $3010 in final value fees.  But they won't get paid and will have to file an unpaid item claim.

It's a sad commentary when public spirit, once a sign of patriotism and community, is now called 'communism.'

Agreed.  I can find no "choice" on eBay's "report this listing" that matches up to some of things I see, e.g. 2 cans of Lysol spray for almost $100.

I may be dense, but I can't figure out how you have determined that these buyers are actually paying.

Exactly!  There are no options to report these things in their drop down menus on "report this listing."  We know who eBay cares most about--eBay.
