I am a new seller to eBay and want to know what anyone has done in the past to get sales going or make the selling process easier? Any good eBay specific resources?

It's just a case of Trial and Error. No one can really tell you how to make money on Ebay and the best Way. You can read the Tutorials, they may help you. You can also do some research on your part to what is actually selling. I would just start out with some small things and see if any one else is selling them and for how much. You can also see what these particular items sold for when you refine your search and Filter. There is also a lot of help with shipping on the Ebay Site. Also a lot of info on You Tube. Good Luck.

Start small selling cheap insignificant items so you learn how to list and ship and god forbid handle 'issues'. I took a free seminar at a public library and have never regretted it.

Look at listings for the same or similar items. Use the Completed option in Advanced search to see what has sold and what hasn't. Find the one that is most like your item and copy that listing using the Sell Now link under the pictures.
Change the Title and description to match your item. Take lots of good, clear pictures. Note any flaws in your description or in the Condition field.
