Hello all. I'm taking a week off and will be setting an away time to cover that. Any thoughts on suspending all sales during that time, versus accepting sales with the automatically extended handling time? My biggest concern is offers though. If I accept an offer while I am away via the mobile app, will that negate the extended handling time and potentially cause a late shipment defect? None of my items with Best Offer have an auto accept or auto decline amount. I just hate the thought of sitting on a beach, watching good Buyers offers expire because of I'm afraid to accept them.....
Your thought s and suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

Unless you truly need the money, I would suspend all sales until you get back & just enjoy your vacation. After all, how many vacations do most of us really get? I wouldn't want to worry about ebay or anything else that isn't absolutely necessary.
Some sellers keep items listed & it works out okay, but for me I would prefer a real 'time off'. Now sometimes I will put items on 'time away' keeping listings active, but only if I'm still around & something comes up, like our weather situation is iffy, or I'm under the weather, but I can still check messages frequently & communicate back to buyer if need be. And even possibly mail item out early.
But for a real vacation, I say unplug & enjoy! 😎
A week goes by fast & you can list upon your return.

My opinion...
Suspend sales while you're away.
When people but it "now" they want it "now".

I disagree. People will wait if they want the item. Set your return date and keep store open. There is nothing better than making money while you're on vacation. 😉

If I take a week off, I take the danged week off and block all sales. Life is too short.

When on vacation, i want to be unplugged. I do check my messages, but i always opt for hiding my listings and no sales. If they want it, they can wait til my return. Just a personal preference. Have a great time!!

Thanks for all of the excellent input from everyone! I have decided to "close shop" and just disappear for my week, it will all still be here when I get back!
May you all be blessed with record sales numbers!

I live in the Midwest and when I take time away there is a 2-hour delay on when the time starts. On the Eastcoast I assume it's 3 hours. Just food for thought...

Yes, I referenced my time away start/end to Pacific Time to account for the 3 hour time difference. And actually made the start time the day before I leave just to be sure! Of course, I have stopped sending out offers as well.

You still get sales, depends how fast the buyer needs it.
